That's just plain insulting to XWP, considering that (how can I avoid getting too political here?) - let's just say, the actions of Dubya's government bear little relation to any message that Xena might bring. Ain't it amazing how everybody wants to steal a bit of Xena's mana? cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Ain't it amazing how everybody wants to steal a bit of Xena's mana? cr Seems that entirely 'on-message' could as easily be argued. Force of arms to achieve one's goals. And it's been a long, long time since political leaders joined troops on the front-line. Do you dismiss Winston Churchill because he didn't leap out of a landing craft on Normandy in 1944? Force of arms to achieve one's goals. And it's been a long, long time since political leaders joined troops on the front-line. Do you dismiss Winston Churchill because he didn't leap out of a >landing craft on Normandy in 1944? of course the original issue was that condi was being portrayed as xena warrior princess who, if she did not exactly leap out of gab's landing craft in , did lead troops by over-example or whatever you call it. i was merely following the comparison literally. you do crack me up, though. thank goodness for a cooler and more distant head. problem solved. i'll think of condi as another xena cum churchill and all will be well. i'll be able to support condi's presentation to the world of the US's international war for oil, trashing of the world's environment, and Pax Americana as the latter day face of two "characters" i love (on the one hand) and respect on the other. and as for accepting george's kisses from time-to-time? i shall no longer shudder. i'm sure xena would've done the same had she been cjc's seccy of state or whatever the equivalent was. i can now go about my day happy in how my country is and is seen to be. how easy things are if one *only* gets the proper perspective. and xena was, above all things, a pragmatist which i'm sure is true of condoleeza herself. as far as churchill, we'll just scrub that little bit of time where he served in the army. oh, and his bulldog. one mustn't be too particular. really sojourner, you should come to the US and help us benighted "blues" see this thing in the right light. well, i'm actually not a blue. i'm just a blue wannabe. glad to have some support for our new secretary of state from across the pond. that's hopeful. ;) but seriously, i'm so knackered and fraught after the election i doubt i could be reasonable about anything right along in through here. md--an old blue in a red state p.s. i do realize you weren't actually commenting on condi at all, merely pointing out a potentially bad analogy. i just need to play. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
