I can tell you for sure that the little girl was not Amy Morrison. Though I don't know the name of the actress, Amy Morrison is actually quite grown up now. She did a role on "Jack of All Trades" as a teenager, and is a young woman now, not a young girl. BATTLE ON XENA! (It was on Masterpiece Theatre.) The blurb includes this quote from a review in the Houston Chronicle-- "Think Xena. Think Braveheart. First-rate entertainment." That's nice, but I didn't think that Warrior Queen was very successful. The quote is on the website (given above.). Hmm yes someone would have probably shot him but the idea always was that since he was Chinese the bad guys just thought they could beat him up. The one good thing about Kung Fu was that it did spotlight the fact that the Chinese played an enormous role in developing the West. Also the Chinese did so while facing mind-boggling prejudice. They couldn't even become citizens since Asiana and all non-whites were barred from citiszenship. > > You see, I used to watch _real_ TV westerns, before all this non-violence > kicked in (isn't a non-violent Western kind of an oxymoron?) - Maverick, > Rawhide (with Clint Eastwood in a _supporting_ role, IIRC!) - doesn't that > date me!! People being blown up all over the place but no dead bodies. > And that's quite a valid point, I think. Well the whole notion that TV violence breeds violence in society always seemed bogus to me anyway. At least in the US TV violence is always blamed for the fact that we are a tad violent. Yet people forget that our history was and always has been violent - we are prone to riots, fights and killing each other mainly because so many of us are armed to the teeth (we now can own AKA 47 which will make bank robbery much more fun). Yet dispite this cutural predisposition TV gets the blame. Also people seem not to notice that in parts of the world where I assume violent TV and vidoe games are scarce people are doing a dany job of killing one and another. Genicode in the Sudan, tribal warfare in Africa, daily beheadings in Iraq aren't the product of people watching one too many episodes of Miami Vice or Xena.
