From the reviews I've read and the bits I've seen, the other shows probably won't make it (North Shore, Hawai'i, to name a few). All the directors seem to love it here. Most of them are saying in local TV interviews that there's not a bad shot in this location to be found. ;) Too bad the XWP producers didn't agree with them. ;P And too bad I don't have any time to audition for any of the shows.....;) LOL - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * "I think New Zealand geographically comes from * * ... It kept me on the edge of my seat and am looking forward to next week. When I first saw it however I thought how are they going to sustain the premiss for more than one season but we'll see. Now on to Survivor. Did any see or more precisely hear the opening credits of Survvor this week. At the very beginning of the music for the credits there is just a snipt of music from a track on I think the first Xena CD or more likely from the Bitter Suite CD. Check it out and see if you agree. Scenery was a necessary but not sufficient condition for making Herc and XWP - - that is, many countries would have offered adequate scenery - Hawaii, NZ, Greece, Yugoslavia, Switzerland (just the first few names that come to mind). OTOH, Holland for instance would be right out. Come to that, you probably can't easily find an 'empty' location in Switzerland I think a few other considerations apply as well, like - - local pay rates for cast and crew (like, cheaper than US!) - - adequate communications & facilities - - English speaking local extras (saves heaps in ADR) - - no revolutions / civil wars going on (Yugoslavia just dropped out :) oh yeah, and - location shooting possible all year round (sorry, Alaska cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
