I'm supposed to cite at least 5 non-class sources. I was thinking of using gender (duh) and maybe generation to examine. I was planning on using any mag articles I could dig up about those topics, but I don't quite remember now when/where those topics were addressed in all the XWP articles I've collected over the years. If any of you are bored and can *jog* my memory, I would be so grateful. ;=) Also, if you want to cite some eps you think I should use, let me know. Of course, this is only if you want to chime in and don't have anything better to do. I just thought since people were casting around for a list topic, this might be a good "list project". ;) You can either write me privately or, if you feel the whole list would be interested, on-list. I also liked the turnabout, with Xena playing the forgiving > Gabs, and Gabs wanting to administer "tough love." Also, it occurred to me at one point that this was an ep where someone else (viz. Tara) had relieved Gabs of the usual chore of Doing Something Stupid (against Xena's orders) and having to be rescued by Xena... (Though I note, the occasion when Gabs made the famous remark "She didn't listen to you. You let her get away with that?" - Tara actually didn't screw up. She actually helped Xena (though Xena probably didn't need her help and didn't want it). It was a later incident where Tara got herself and Gabs captured). > And of course we have > Tara disrupting "domestic" arrangements from Gabs' standpoint and forcing > Xena to play big sis. And of course, as I said, Tara's presence relieved Gabs of the Silly Things chore ;) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. The film is currently scheduled for a 2005 release, but perhaps Ms. Theron's injury might delay that. They also fly perilously to my head undoubtedly to produce an eek from me. Last winter I spent a small fortune to bat proof my attic but now they seem to have another means of entry. They can crawl through an opening no bigger than a quarter but apparently they have trouble flying through large open windows, perhaps it lacks a challenge. As for the Gabby reference come to think of it my cat has many early Gabby qualities - innocence, very talkie (she's part Siamese) and enjoys watching me battle villains of the rodent variety (she has delivered a mouse to my bed in the past). She however has beautiful blue eyes and is named Lucy. CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I'm really enjoying your bat (and cat) tales. Perhaps you should consider building (or buying) a bat condo or two-- they're useful critters to have around, and if they have homes of their own maybe they'll stop invading yours! http://batcon.org/bhra/index.html - --Sekhmet ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Bats are very useful creatures. They eat great amounts of bad insects however they have an unfortunate reputation given to them by Dracula movies and the misconception they carry rabies. Having said all this and knowing they are useful and usually harmless and in the right light kind of cute, I still don't want one as a room mate. I just wish I could communicate with them better. Last year I got one while watching The Pet Psychic (honest) and I was able to convince it to fly out the front door. This year no such luck. I hadn't heard about Theron's injury -- what happened? I hope she's ok ... personally I'm skeptical about that particular casting choice (believe it or not I think Angelina Jolie would've been a better choice, and I'm not a fan of hers at all). But I am very much looking forward to this movie. _Aeon Flux_ is one of the coolest animated series ever. All hail, Liquid Television!! I would imagine it was Darryl Hannah's part. That would've been a really good one for Claire, though Hannah was wonderful in it. (She's mostly in part 2, so once you watch that you'll see what I mean.) I *love* _Kill Bill_. Such great fun. > Now my story about what Xena collectibles are good > for. LOL!!! You might already know this, given your past history dealing with bats, but the best way to combat dive-bombing bats is a tennis racket. Their sonar can't pick up the strings, so they literally don't know what hit 'em. Meredith meth@smoe.org __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
