I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't have to pass the hat to come up with the money to put you in a nice, quiet facility that won't let you watch any more XWP. Ever. This has always been one of my favorites -- the opening dialogue between X&G, the comedic momements (especially Bruce and ROC), the nicely done father-son aspect, the Lucy/Bruce moments, the obvious fun LL and ROC are having. So much like a nice, sweet, simple tale in the vein of earlier seasons, but with more sophistication in terms of the characters and relationships. I just wish the dance sequences could've gone on a little longer. I loved Lucy doing the martial-arts demo. As always, I love the music. Definitely one of the eps I put on when I need something to smile about. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. No way I can compete on that. The insanity, now, I might be a contender for ;) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I think the idea was for Caesar and Pompey's troops to bash each other and the Greeks just appear at the last minute to mop up. Like in Anthony & Cleopatra. But it wasn't really made very clear. And also the logic of Xena setting up the catapults to aim exactly where she was. The script doesn't indicate that she was feeling suicidal, but what other conclusion can one draw? That Xena thought she could jump fast enough? Favourite line (from Pompey, who I always liked as a villain, much better than Caesar): "If Caesar wants that hill, _I_ want that hill!" > As for Gabrielle missing the shot with the spear, > it never really bothered me as much as it has bothered some. It doesn't matter how many times she threw > her staff to trip someone it is a whole different mind set to throw a spear > to kill. Besides, I imagine a spear has a different balance to a staff, even if Gabs had practiced throwing a staff - which one wouldn't do very often, since the whole point of a staff as a weapon is to hang on to the thing - and anyway, how good a shot is anybody with a spear without lots of practice? I might expect Xena to hit her target, anybody else I'd expect to miss. > The Tales of Two Muses has grown on me over time.
