Now probably you all noticed these things but I didn't. In Family Affair when Hope is pretending that Xena beat her so Gabby's family would turn Xena out did you notice the injuries on Hope are the same Gabby had after the gabdrag. It gives that little smirk Hope has a little more oomph. After all she not only manages to turn the family against Xena but is able to remind Xena that she hasn't always treated her friend very well. It was a nice way to get Xena's goat. In Sickness and In Hell I liked the various shots of Argo as she reacts to things said about her. When the warlord says she's beautiful Argo nods her head. Then when Argo is fighting the rope the raiders have on her and the warlord says he might have to kill her she suddenly stops rearing and looks like she is saying uh oh. It was a clever way to make Argo a real character in the story. A Good Day still gets to me as a character study but the battle strategy is still confusing to me. I could never figure out if Gabrielle and the Greeks fell into the Roman trap or not in the final battle. The director and Caesar seem to indicate that they did but the dialogue says everything worked out as planned. As for Gabrielle missing the shot with the spear, it never really bothered me as much as it has bothered some. Sears made a good point in the interview that it is a very common human reaction to flinch when you try to shoot someone for the first time (or spear them in this case). That's what I always felt about Gabrielle - she had every intention to kill the Roman but she had an unconscious reaction to deliberately killing someone. It doesn't matter how many times she threw her staff to trip someone it is a whole different mind set to throw a spear to kill. The Tales of Two Muses has grown on me over time. I like the lightheartedness and politicians who use religion to get ahead are never out of style. I just saw Bubba Ho-Tep so it was fun to see BC do his Elvis imitation in a more lighthearted way. Speaking of Bubba Ho-Tep. I was wondering if anyone else found this movies very dark. I know it won a lot of comedy awards but I didn't find it all that funny. I though Bruce was very good but I didn't think his Elvis was a comic character. She then started talking about other cast and crew who had past, but no further names were given. One was a Russian rider and Renee said one of the men from the "India episodes." I would like to add them to the cast and crew rememberance page. If anyone knows the names of the other men who died, or dates of birth or death for any of the three (I can't find any info on Andrew Kovacevich), please send me a PM so I may add them to the memorial.
