Just like everything else in the episode once they've screamed their > way over the cliff. Hence the name of the place, "Illusia". Xena: "NONE of > this is real." So all actions there are just as real as any other. Hang on - the Gabrielle that Xena killed was specifically stated to be an illusion. (And that was of course confirmed by that fact that Gabs, quite undamaged, came walking in the door....) So, umm, she was not just an illusion, but an illusory illusion at that? An illusion of an illusion? cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I'd forgotten it was by Steve Sears, but his commentary is most illuminating. Seems he must have done quite a lot of swotting up on history before writing it. Steve commented that Vercinix and Mendala were a good-looking couple and he would have liked to see more of them - me too. I'd forgotten, but of course Mendala was Katrina Browne (aka Thalassa), who I remember best as Siri the renegade Amazon in Prodigal Sister. As Mendala, she looked really good as a warrior woman. Great pity we only saw her in the intro. My pick for best acting in the ep, though, is Jeremy Callaghan as Pompey. He isn't a villain that I love to hate (like Caesar), but he's just so perfectly in character. Pompey is ambitious, calculating, a smooth operator, always looking to see if there's an angle in it for him, and Jeremy Callaghan plays him to perfection. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
