And in the tradition of RenPics clipshows, they did an excellent job of taking the mickey out of themselves. The appalling 'french' accent thing was first done, or at least most memorably, by Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, of course. TPTB came up with a new twist on it - the appalling Falafel started speaking perfect French (so far as I can tell) and they promptly complained they couldn't understand him. :) By the way, the other Dani Cormack crossover you really want to catch is 'Sky High', where she's in character as Ephiny. > Speaking of SciFi, in case anyone out there isn't aware, they're running > two episodes of _Cleopatra 2525_ back-to-back from 5-6 am Eastern/Pacific > on Sunday mornings. 'intentionally' being the operative word, I presume? ;) Actually, I did have time for Cleo. She learnt quite fast, in a situation not of her making. There were a lot of really original and clever ideas in that series, but I guess the cheese factor (and the whoosh-bang-let's-blow- something-up factor) tended to swamp them. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. You see a flash of her, which I admit would've been hard to forget with that costume. But the main thing Alti focused on was Xena lying defeated (and maybe dying) on the floor. Xena probably didn't think about it until after or maybe during her fight with Najara. Of all the images Alti showed her, seems the main one she remembered (or at least played back in her head) was the one with Gabs in it. We could chalk that up as another example of her muddleheadedness. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. OK, but still the same thing in practical terms, right up to the point (in Ides) where Gabs cut loose. Hmm, she did join in the fight at the start of Ides, agreed. IIRC that was something of a departure for her, in previous eps she wouldn't even do that. Much though I like Amarice enormously, I'd concede to anyone that the degree of protection she could give was not in the same class as Xena's. It might suffice against the occasional highway ruffian, but not against a squad of Romans. And Xena knew that, I'm sure. > It didn't stop Xena from going after > Pompey, Caesar, etc., in favor of staying behind to protect Gabs. (I notice Gabby didn't object as strongly about that as she did about Ming). So, she had no choice, but IMO she obviously wasn't 100% happy about leaving Gabs to it. > > However, my view is that much of Xena's uncertainty came from her fear > > that she was somehow going to be responsible for Gabs getting crucified. > > So to me, Gabs was an indirect cause of Xena 'not being herself'. I know nothing about the series but in the Boston area it is on early Sunday morning 2 AM on the UPN station. Check your local listings. Also I caught Lucy on E's Celebrities Uncensored. For those who have never seen the show it shows video clips of celebrities in unguarded moments. This time it caught Lucy in a parking garage surrounded by about a dozen autograph hounds (all men). They were waving pictures right in her face and she was trying her best to sign them as she was walking. She obviously got a bit confused because suddenly Rob is heard yelling she was walking the wrong way. She about faces and the crowd just turns with her and she is still signing. By now she is getting just a trifle annoyed and announces that she will sign just five more autographs (not just one more or two more but five - Lucy is so tough (g)). Finally everyone seems satisfied and Lucy is now with Rob but by now she has forgotten where she has parked her car. She now turns to the autograph hunters, who by now are looking at like she is a goddess, and good naturedly orders them "to fan out", and they really seemed anxious to help her. Well she finally finds her car and I think Rob is even going to let his memory challenged wife drive. The announcer then says Lucy "is still a princess and always a lady." I have to say Lucy came as extremely patient and very good humored in a situation that must have been at the very least annoying and at most a bit frightening (those guys were really right on top of her). What I found the most amusing was the fact she forgot where she parked the car - as we all know Lucy is constantly saying she doesn't remember scenes in Xena episodes - obviously she lives her life in a state of blissful forgetfulness. I once went to the aid of a lady in a supermarket parking lot who was having trouuble getting into her car. Her key wouldn't work the lock. And I was just starting to waggle the key around gently (which usually works***) when she noticed that the contents of the car were 'wrong'. Yup, her car (same model, same colour) was parked a few spaces away. Lucky she spotted it or we could have both been most embarrassed if the real owner had showed up... (*** specially in old, slightly worn locks. At one time I had three 1960/70's English cars - this is a few years ago - with about six keys between them, what with door locks, locking gas caps, etc - and *any one* of the keys would open any of the cars, start the motor and let me drive away, if waggled gently and skilfully enough..... Another occasion I locked the keys of my wife's Ford Escort in the trunk, in a hospital car park. There were a few other Fords in the car park - Cortinas and Escorts - so I waited until one of their owners showed up, borrowed his key, unlocked the trunk with the 'waggle' technique, and I was mobile again. ) "I have many skills" - cr desperately trying to pretend he's On Topic ;) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
