In retrospect, I can see how a novice viewer might be captivated. I mean, there was pathos, comedy, butt-kicking, just enough Xena to be intriguing, scantily-clad Amazons. good old Bruce, a pretty good villain, romance/subtext, etc. If it was the relationship, then they would be okay with Xena's return. What about it really sucked you in? Did you realize at the time that it was unusual to have so much focus on Gabs? True, it's about the biggest nod to several (primarily) male fantasies, but I think it was also a great parody of those fantasies. Anyway, it's like several people contributed to certain bits and pieces. I'm sooo curious as to what was going on in their heads when they came up with that idea. I'd like to know what ROC thought as well. I liked it if only because it was such a showcase of her comedic talents. I wish I could see Lucy's face as she viewed it, as it's quite possible that's another one she hadn't really watched before. I loved that Hudson still played Cally like a spoiled brat, as opposed to being turned into an unrelentingly evil demon with no sense of humor. However (my personal wishes not withstanding) I am not sure that interviews with minor guests would be cost effective. Fascinating though they would be, such guests could only give a limited snapshot of the show as they would have been on set for a few days and not see the big picture. From that point of view directors would be better than actors to interview. I can't believe I am arguing against this!
