Well, not old, mature. ;) Anyway, it's good to see that he's getting good parts. Hope Gina can do the same. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Wilson" Subject: Re: [chakram-refugees] Xenaverse alumni in "The Matrix Revolutions"... (spoilers) Spoilers for The Matrix Revolutions.... . . . I'm barely awake here but - I saw it too last night and WHOA! That was some insane, adrenaline-pumping, oh-god-what-next battle scene, eh? The only seats left in the theater were right on the front row and I totally forgot that my eyes were trying to roll back in my head by that time; I nearly wanted to leap out of my seat and into the battle. And to see Nathaniel Lees' character (Mifune) out there just going ape and holding on til the last possible second...! The man was a real soldier. His character even gets his own song on the Revolutions soundtrack (which is great, btw - unlike a lot of soundtracks, all the music on this one was in the movie). I was *really* happy to see Gina Torres again with more dialogue. Even though her time onscreen was tiny, she performed like she'd known the character for years. I want to see this gal go far. I was semi-impressed with her role as Jasmine on Angel last season (it was the one reason I watched Angel), but I think some of the writing and storyline threw me off too much to enjoy her more. I got more out of her cumulative 3 minutes of screentime in Reloaded and Revolutions than I did in her entire performance on Angel. She's truly cut out for the silver screen. As for the movie itself, I thought it was very good. Parts of it were excellent. Some parts were painfully slow. But I did not think any of it was awful. Now that the trilogy is complete, it will probably feel a lot less disjointed and confusing to watch them all in a row, along with The Animatrix (which I very highly recommend, even if you're not into anime - because I'm not and I enjoyed the heck out of it) and the footage from the game Enter the Matrix for the backstory. The show will however remain on the network's schedule for the remainder of November sweeps as three installments have yet to air. WB executives will then decide the show's fate after seeing the numbers for those episodes. Through its five airings this season, "Tarzan" has averaged a disappointing 1.7 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. So it's not totally axed yet. Hmm...after reading your first post about it, I went to MaryD's site, which had this clipping: WB Cancels Freshman Drama Tarzan John Consoli NOVEMBER 06, 2003 - The WB, which just yesterday gave freshman drama One Tree Hill a full-season order, is cancelling another freshman drama, Tarzan, reports John Consoli. The network has ordered production to be stopped on the series and is expected to air the remaining three episodes that have been shot during the remainder of the November sweeps. WB executives have not yet decided what will air in Tarzan's Sunday 9 p.m. time period in December. The network has reality shows High School Reunion and Surreal Life ready for mid-season, and one could be called up for dutyon Sunday nights at 9 p.m. beginning in January. Tarzan, through five telecasts, recorded a household rating of 2.6, considerably lower than its lead-in, Charmed, which is averaging a 3.6, according to Nielsen Media Research data. Tarzan is also averaging only a 1.7 in both the 18-49 and 18-34 demos; the latter of which is particularly important to the WB. Charmed is averaging a 2.9 in 18-34, 41 percent better than Tarzan, which is losing nearly 30 percent of the Charmed viewers. Source: MediaWeek Headlines Hmm, they make it sound more like it's already totally a goner. :( Weird... -Sarah- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. It's two versions of the same story. But with a bit more of a "let's wait and see" in the futon one. I'm ambivalent. I LOVE seeing Lucy each week and I think she's doing a great job at developing the character. But it's so frustrating that she's only in a few scenes. And that the rest of the show is so undistinguished. KT ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
