During her time at the college she was well respected and scholar and athlete. She was an outstanding lacrosse player and high hurdler. Recently we interviewed Kate. (snipped for length) Interviewer: You were an outstanding athlete while at college. Where you always athletic? Kate: Actually no. As a child I was very uncoordinated but my brother John would always chased me up and down the stairs at home. Slowly I developed great leg muscles and endurance which came in handy at college. I also learned quick reflexes because my other brother Dick kept trying to trip me by running fishing lined over the steps, the little devil. I learned quickly how to see the almost invisible lines and to leap over them. Interviewer: So have you kept up with sports? Kate: Well I don't really have the time to play lacrosse, but I do try to keep physically fit by running up and down the stairs at home. It's much easier now there aren't any fishing lines on them. Interviewer: How a bout high hurdles? Kate: Well no but recently my nephew came to live me and he has certainly inherited my abilities there. Perhaps some day he'll take be out for a jog around the city. CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Perhaps those in front of Greystroke Industries -- like that boxer in the film "Rocky"? Kate: I dunno. It does seem likely, now that Dickie is all grown up and prone to putting helicopters in my way, not just chicken wire. Good thing one of my ancestors was a great warrior woman who could run up walls, leap and somersault, as I'm sure I'll need that to augment my stair-climbing skills. Apparently I still need to work on my form, though, if I'm going to win points at the upcoming Stair Climbing Contest of the Known World. I hear a couple of the judges are really picky. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Just got back from seeing the 3rd Matrix movie, and am pleased to report that Gina Torres and Nathaniel Lees both get more screen time in this installment! :) Only a teeny bit more for Gina though :(, but Nathaniel has several long scenes and a pivotal role, yay!! He gets to kick some serious machine ass, woo-hoo...quite a change from his roles as, say, Nicklio the healer in "Destiny" and the blue priest in "Dreamworker"...or Chiron on Herc...(or was it Young Herc? I forget. Anyway, he's been in everything, suffice to say! And was in the LOTR trilogy too, go Nathaniel!) I also saw an extra in the big fighting-the-machines scene towards the end who looked like he had Maori tattoos, but I dunno. -Sarah- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
