Do you "picture in picture" capabilities, with all those VCRs of yours? You could watch an old Xena ep or other show, until you saw Lucy come on. < g> You do raise any interesting question. I glomb on to every Lucy moment now, and of course think she brings a certain something to the screen. Like you, though, I'm not sure what I'd think if I were simply flipping through channels like I was when I discovered XWP. If I happened to catch a Kathryn moment, would I stop and say, "Wow, what a fascinating character/actress"? Would I sludge through the other parts for 5-10 minutes of her? Guess I'll never know and am glad I won't miss her this time around. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. This isn't Lucy's show. She said she only works three days and is very happy about that. So although we can hope this becomes the Kate Clayton show it won't happen. Perhaps when Lucy gets her own show a Kate Clayton kind of character might be interesting. Powerful business woman from a powerful family in the midst of corporate intrigue - sounds good. Now if we lose jungle boy we can have that show right now. > > My hope is that she will be able to take the character and make it her > own, which undoubtedly would give us a story carried by two women in > Tarzan's life: Jane (his love) and Kathleen (his protector). However does make Tarzan less than a hero doesn't it. > > Cheryl L ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. The toughness came across, as well as "heart." I think she didn't want Kathleen to appear too bitchy, yet wanted her to have an edge, a bit of a facade with people she didn't know or trust. She added a little something -- wryness? -- to the "I want to give the money away" part, possibly because it sounded too goody-two-shoes so early and with no backstory to make it plausible. Also I think it would add a little intrigue to wonder if Kathleen is as altruistic as she seems. With the brother, it was hard to tell how sincere the "I'm tired of fighting" and "I never thanked you" bits were. She had enough sincerity where it made me realize this was a family in crisis, not just a conglomerate. Yet she also seemed to be testing bro, to see if he'd fess up to the nephew being alive. Anyway, she gave a little mystery to what could be a one-dimensional "good gal." I'm thinking she'll have a lot of rope to do what she wants. Only thing is, she'll have to do it in context, not stand out as too quirky. She probably has to worry about "upstaging" others in a way she didn't with XWP. She also has to react more to what they're giving her. She had some pretty good folks to "play off" in the past, which I can't say is true this time around. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Fascinating to learn in an interview that his biggest influence for the film were two 1960's woman warrior seeking revenge movies. I've blanked out on the names. :~) ************************************************ ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
