A movie, maybe. But the series? > > -- Ife i agree with you. no we do not. or i don't. nor a movie at this point. been too long. from heights one can only descend and for me, xena was the top! i also liked your post so much about thinking it's time for them (lucy and ren) to move on. xwp will always be one of those shows, and there are really only a few, that i watch with affection and amazement and love and gratitude. well, it's basically the show of shows in that respect. as with other shows, i'll follow the stars into new ventures out of interest and affection. . .and b/c they're so young to me they're sort of like my kids. but unlike other shows, xena has become iconic in this household. the language and jokes and mythos of xena are part of our family culture. there's no way to add to it and i'm not sure pushing it farther wouldn't potentially detract. i think LL and roc should soon move on completely, if they're ready. i'll be interested in commentaries as they come out in the remaining seasons, but already they seem to be pushing it. lucy never has remembered what was going on and is able to do her work intuitively and with total focus and then turn to other things. renee should soon have other work to do with her wonderful compulsive exactness and dedication. i appreciated your post about that, Ife, b/c i'd been thinking exactly the same thing the day before but just hadn't bothered to post it. xena is and, i expect, always will be a part of my life and my partners'. i've made friends through xena that are part of my life tho i've never met them. the show was and is amazing to me. i love it, i love the characters and the actors. i still can't believe kevin's gone. i can, however, let the show be over. i hold it in my heart with affection, i still make xena walls just for fun and b/c the characters are fun to work with. i still learn things from xena. i still ponder the show. we still laugh and cry over xena. my partner still wears her chakram necklace on bad days and sometimes a gab necklace when she's needing compassion. she carries a chakram that i attached to some nice stone beads pinned in her lab coat pocket or inside her scrubs. for days when she really needs strength she wears the chakram *and* carries to work a xena sword letter opener i got her, a gorgeous thing and very sharp. it can be variously the sword of wisdom, of compassion, of courage, the sword that cuts through obscurations, the sword that cuts through illusion, the sword of the spiritual warrior or simply her weapon of choice for dashing into whatever afray calls for it. we don't need another series or another movie. we've had the best. they left me wanting more but the wanting more is gone and what's left is joy and satisfaction and the feeling that they *never* let me down. i'm a better, more informed and even wiser person for that show. it just doesn't get any better than that. md - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2003 2:08 AM Subject: Re: [chakram-refugees] [OT] Dr. Who > In a message dated 9/26/2003 8:55:05 PM Central Daylight Time, > KLOSSNER9@aol.com writes: > > > If Dr. Woh can come back, perhaps there's hpe for Xena. > > > > I realize this will sound sacreligious, but do we really want XWP to come > back? Hudson Leick dropped hints about wanting to be a baddie on Angel. She's in Eliza Dushku's new show's pilot (Tru Calling). Eliza Dushku played Faith on Buffy and Angel. Seesee? Steph :) (who reeeally wants to see Hudson as a baddie on Angel) ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Script, which is heavy on kiwi slang--which may limit pic's international prospects--relates, over a five-day period, the relationship of the retired Loma (Takle) and Brian, which has settled into a testy stalemate."
