Wilson" Subject: Re: [chakram-refugees] Gabrielle in retirement I'm not sure what I picture Gabs doing, after she takes Xena home to Amphipolis. Maybe she'll get with the locals and build the town back up, re-open Cyrene's inn, open up a bard academy, maybe ... then hit the road. I like to think of her as out there roaming free, helping out here and there if she feels she can, and maybe, eventually, many years down that road, pulling up a rocking chair in front of an eager audience of rapt children (grand nieces and nephews?) and opening one of those tattered, old scrolls, with a little smile, beginning: "I sing of Xena, Warrior Princess..." :) S. As Xena once said, "People in our line of work don't live very long." I am certainly not advocating that Gabrielle should (did) die a violent death but Xena did have a point about the danger. That's if you suppose that Gabrielle carried on the work. The interesting thing about the Story post-FIN is that it is wide open to individual interpretation until TPTB give us more canon. I personally think that she carried on the work in her own unique manner; bringing people together and negotiating peaceful solutions with a chakram back-up. She's too much of a people person to stay the lone warrior. I can see her hooking up with someone; a side kick, another warrior ala Xena or even Beowulf (but one of them is going to have to relocate). As of yet, those story scrolls have not been unearthed. Time ruins all and the Christians burned much. Hawk ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
