I'm sure you meant Xena does him again and not, *does* him > again, huh?? >. LOL! I couldn't remember if she snapped his neck again or just ran him through with her sword or something. But yes, I meant "does" as in "kills" him again. > > I too always enjoy spotting the 'regular' bit players! >> I notice their faces are always purposedly obscured in photos in the fan newsletter, having to do with rights I guess. But I would love to see quotes from them. I remember seeing a few comments way back in one of those sci-fi mags. > > The list just goes on and one.... Oh the joys of being a HCNB! > You know what's even worse? I've got my favorite stock transition scenes as well -- e.g., the beautiful purplish moonlit landscape (early part of "Furies"), birds being scared out of the trees (ADITL), the sunrise ("Been There"). One day when I'm finally confined to a rocker, I'm going to count how many times some of those are shown. Picking out recurring sets and structures is fun too. My favorites are the village we see Xena riding up to in "Sins" and that night-time military camp in "Destiny." I still laugh when Gabs comes into Minya's village and says it looks like every other village they've been in. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. About the only 'bit' player I ever spotted was the shepherdess in the cave in The Gauntlet, and then only 'cos I was watching it shortly after 'Coming Home' and recognised 'Queen Marga' by her voice. And Albert, who was doing 'guard duty' at the Renpics auction and who, after I'd walked past him three or four times, seemed vaguely familiar to me. ;) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Heck, I don't even know for sure what Cande meant by it. Cande? You there?" Hello, Hello I'm here. Now what did I mean? I meant I believe that Xena is seen as a stoic but that is a natural personality trait for her. She has adopted it to protect herself. She often displays her emotions - she wails in grief, she can be lost in rage. He feelings for Gabrielle are not hidden - heck Callisto figured out how important Gabby is to Xena the first time she met. Xena thinks she is hidding her emotions and feelings but she isn't - anyone with an ounce of perception knows what she is feeling. I always look for the big guy who has a kind of dopey look about him. He was a guard in Locked Up and in a bunch of other episodes but my favorite was when they stuck a wig on him to make him a viking and he just looks so absurd I just crack up. Also the guy who was the Persian spy in OAAAA is the guard who gets shot at the guard post in Amphipolis Under Seige. I always it a kick out of recognizing the bit players. By now I feel they are buddies. CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. What we're hoping to do for Kit #7 is go to the various locations with Lucy and Renee and have them talk about shooting there. Sort of "Coffee Talk on Location" And I'd like to have printouts of the scenes to refresh their memories. So, the more stuff I have, the merrier! I've bookmarked the pages of cr's New Xenaland page, Bevis King and Adrian Petford. If you think of scene and want to relate it to a location photo on one of their pages, just describe which location photo it goes with and on who's page. And please include the episode title of the scenes. Many thanks for any help you folks can give me. I thought that's what you meant, but kinda went off on one of my tangents. I think one of TEXena's points may have been that the "heart on sleeve" description is usually applied to love (particularly unrequited). You seemed to be stretching that to include a range of emotions, which I bought into. Now, without getting into the "sleeve" thing per se, I think what I liked is your implication that "heart" for you means more than (but certainly includes) love -- deep emotions that tell you about what's going on inside someone. I think of "passion" when I think of Xena, which I see as a form of deep love and commitment to whatever means something to her -- e.g., certain people, a good fight, solving problems, her honor. That's so much a part of who she is, that I took it for granted, just like I did her stoicism. Your comment brought these two aspects together and helped me appreciate Xena more as a whole person and to understand better her wide ranging appeal. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
