I love RN, despite the more than usual suspension of disbelief. What always cracks me up is that Xena's so ditzy in the alternate timeline that nobody blinks much when she seems to have forgotten she has a fiance and that her mother died 10 years ago. Sure, they say she's not acting like herself, but maybe 'cause she's got a cold or something. Lyceus even suggests she take a nap, but then gets mad when she doesn't want to fight. Seems like she had split personality. Wonder if she rolled that peasant skirt up to practice sword play and tumbling? - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Heck, I take my CD of AFIN with me on trips, even tho I know the last bit of music (which covers Xena's fight with Yodoshi, thru the boat scene at the end) will get to me every time. There's an added little Xena theme, which isn't in the final production, after they have their chat about why Gabs can't dunk the ashes. Whew. I've watched a couple - it's a much 'lighter' show than Xena (or Buffy), but watchable. Of course, XWP already 'did' Relic Hunter with The Xena Scrolls... but that's no reason why Relic Hunter shouldn't do XWP. I think it would actually fit rather well. Umm, Tia Carrere. Well, Ares was traditionally supposed to lie all the time (though in later Xena eps I don't think he did, not to Xena, not very often). But Ares lying is possibly the least difficult way out of a rather nasty YAXI. > > Hang on. Because Ares lied about one thing, doesn't mean he lied about > > the > > other. Am I being picky - yes I am. I agree on that point. If that was their specific intention, then they failed. (And introduced two YAXIs, the chacky and the reported Gabs-Ares saving-Hope deal). Leaving that aside (so far as I can), I did quite enjoy the rest of the ep though. Xena, Ares (and Meg!) were in excellent form, I thought. > > Maybe just a self-styled scroll expert. This where we first find out that Joxer thinks being a muscian isn't very manly. He tells Orpheus that his mother made him take music lessons but he has decided that that a warrior i.e. real man can't be a muscian. This idea is again brought up in Lyre, Lyre when Joxer is ashamed of Jace. We all assumed that Joxer had problems because Jace was gay or so we assumed. Perhaps what Joxer was really embarrassed about was the fact Jace was a muscian and that was why he thought of him as less of a man.
