It has no index and I looked through it languidly, not expected to find anything on XWP. But it's there. Page 152 is devoted to Xena. It has a big picture of Xena not breaking a sweat while strangling a big, ugly guy wearing warpaint and a skull on his head. It says-- When Xena hurled her last razor-shharp chakram disc after six years of syndicated success, TV Guide noted "X Things We'll Miss" about her and Lucy Lawless, the actress behind the Amazonian sci-fi/fantasy babe. They included: "The Grrrl Power" (Xena kicked the entire Persian army's collective butt); and "The Lesbian Subtext" (Xena's unstated relationship with comic-relief sidekick Gabrielle titillated many fans). As if those attributes weren't enough, the magazine also celebrated Xena's message: "The show's plea for tolerance and its timeless advice--be true to yourself-- are the ultimate cool." Ben Affleck as a Philip K. Dick hero? Well, can't be as bad when Arnold was a Dick hero. Ted Raimi is the type of actor that should be cast for a Dick lead. (Others--Woody Allen, Steve Busecemi, Gene Hackman.) Affleck types are usually one of the "suits" who are running the conspiracy against the nebbish main character. :~) ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
