["Mark B." Subject: [chakram-refugees] Xena Season 1 DVD's I asked Josh Becker on his website Q&A about the forthcoming DVD's he (and others) will be doing a commentary for, and he said it's for Panzer-Davis, not Anchor Bay. (www.beckerfilms.com/post.html) I guess he should know ;) Apparently the commentary will be on-camera and P-D are including an extra DVD with the commentaries on (so it sounds like it won't be a voice-over FIN-DC style). To quote Josh (and *please* note he's only repeating what he's heard, I'm sure he wouldn't claim it as the infallible story!) "The other directors being interviewed, from what I hear, are: Doug Leffler, Charles Siebert, Michael Levine, and T.J. Scott." (According to Logomancy's credits list, their S1 eps are: Doug Leffler - Sins of the Past Michael Levine - Cradle of Hope, Warrior...Princess, Altared States Charles Siebert - The Reckoning, Death in Chains, Ties That Bind T J Scott - Beware Greeks Bearing Gifts, Callisto, Is There a Doctor in the House Josh's ep that he directed was Fistful of Dinars, and he co-wrote Chariots of War.) I would expect that list to change somewhat in the normal course of events, so please NOBODY do the usual obsessive-fan thing and allege conspiracies and lies if some of those names don't appear!! Meanwhile, it's true that Anchor Bay did announce Herc and Xena Season 1 DVD's commencing in April (http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/future/). I don't know what to make of that. Anyone repeating this *PLEASE* quote the URL's so people can see for themselves what was said! cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Subject: [chakram-refugees] OT Kevin Smith question.... I just saw a preview on TV for 'Tears of the Sun', starring Bruce Willis. From the story line, it seems that this may be the movie that Kevin Smith had been scheduled to be in. Am I remembering correctly?? Young" Subject: [chakram-refugees] OT: Lost World 2/8/2003 I was watching Lost World this Sat. 2/8, and the storyline was all about Amazons and their war/relationships with men, and the costumes and societal rules seemed *coincidentally* very similar to those on XWP (in fact, a straight rip-off, IMO). Most of the Amazons were wearing Callisto-type costumes, but couldn't fight nearly as well as any of the characters on XWP, and the entire premise was similar to the Herc and the Amazon Women movie (men/women need to cooperate, stop fighting, don't segregate, etc., but the current situation was the same as the "men across the river" scenario in HTLJ). The actor who played the king who's enamored of Salmoneous in drag in the HTLJ Men in Tights ep, who's a regular on Lost World, took the "elderly" role of Anthony Quinn being seduced by one the of Amazons (the queen in this instance, but it was LL in the HTLJ movie). It was amusing mostly because of all the (IMO) XWP references they stole throughout the show, but of course paled in comparison to the real thang. ;) Just MO, - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * "I think New Zealand geographically comes from * * ...
