Just got my Chakram #20, which has a great interview with Steve Sears about 
THE PRICE.  But what I like even more are photos I don't recall seeing 
published before of feral Xena.   Oooo.  She's crawling through the dirt 
outside the fort, checking for a pulse on any of the Horde bodies.  Standing 
over the leader, taunting him to get up.  A couple of shots are of her during 
the fight inside the fort, one with ax in hand (which maybe will find its way 
into a calendar some day, hint hint), though not where she's slitting that 
guy's throat.  <sob>  Sorry, Lilli, but I just love Bad Girl Xena.  I mean, 
what would Good Girl Xena be, without the potential to slip back into the 
part of herself she thought she wouldn't need any more?  <g>

Subject: [chakram-refugees] (OT) Vanessa Angel as Xena?

Just watched a SciFi Channel movie called 'Sabretooth', mainly to see Vanessa 
Angel in action.  Try as I might, I just can't picture her as Xena.  IMO, too 
blonde, too bland, too one-dimensional.  Although in fairness I must say the 
role was pretty one-dimensional.

I seem to remember Xena saying, at one point, 'all things happen as they 
should'.  And it happened as it should that Vanessa missed her trip to NZ due 
to illness, LL got the role by default, and the rest is Warrior Princess 
history.

All things happen as they should in Xenaland.

anything up*, I just wanted to  double-check my impressions. ;)  I was
going to e-mail just a few  individuals  mentioned in the book privately
to do this, but then thought  perhaps others had impressions they might
want to chime in on and I wouldn't get their input that way. ;)

Like I said, I could have CRS, so just wanted to make sure it wasn't me.

I guess the main ones were on p. 12 where LL's meet-up with Garth was
described.  I always heard they were "high school sweethearts", and not
that they had met in some bar (but of course I could be wrong)??  Also,
didn't they pre-arrange to meet up in Europe (again, I could be wrong)??

Also, I think I'm probably wrong on this one, but I always thought LL's
1998 Con was her _second_ one, not her _third_, but then her NY con
appearance was mentioned, so I guess that was her second one, albeit
(IIRC) a last-minute one. ;=/

Otherwise, I enjoyed a lot of the "fleshing out" of the fan experience,
especially the parts I couldn't participate in (like Meow Mix, Grease!,
etc.). ;)

Too bad some of the URLs are now probably outdated. ;(
