I know I will get this wrong so please no comments about spelling or my general ignorance but Sharon consulted her about scanning(?) Shakespeare's lines. So have we a Shakespearean expert on line or is it a poetry expert? CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Actually, the player on the current tour who most closely resembles Xena is Amelie Mauresmo, who will be playing Venus Williams in the semifinals tomorrow. The girl is large. I got to see her play a couple weeks ago in the Pilot Pen tournament here in New Haven -- it was all I could do to keep from shouting "to a strong Amazon Nation!" when she left the court. :} (Sadly, she lost to Lindsay Davenport that day, and I was one of only a handful of people in the crowd rooting for her.) ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Annie Gallup, Saturday, 9/28 at 8 pm ============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I just saw a little montage of bits from today's big matches at the US Open. They showed match point of the Amelie Mauresmo/Jennifer Capriati match, and when Mauresmo won I swear she did the Amazon salute! You know, the double fist against the chest and then in the air. Did anyone else see this -- or am I hallucinating again? :) ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Annie Gallup, Saturday, 9/28 at 8 pm ============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
