I was amazed and delighted to see that it was Director's Cut they screened. Maybe after DC screened on Oxygen they quietly replaced the original TV version with DC in all the distributions. I did read a number of comments at the time of the original screening that the colours were very soft and muddy - I don't know if anyone recalls that? All I can say is, that on the version we just saw here, there was of course a lot of pastel colouring in the sets, but the picture was perfectly clear and sharp. And the sets were gorgeous - specially the teahouse. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I am sad to see the Show finish in it's first run in NZ at least there are still the repeats One thing that made a lot of these final eps quite bitter sweet as well was the eps that featured the Late Kevin Smith Kevin was a shining star that all to briefly flickered in the sky Lucy has put her Acting on to a slow simmer I'm sure she will one day bring it back to the boil It's so good to see her using her Image to push so many good causes All the time she was working on Xena she was actively sponsoring an African child and her money has helped his whole village Lucy could be the next big female star if she wanted She has the talent and brains to take her there But she seams to just want to be a guest star or the extra - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Catch ya later NZJester - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Hi, (Believe it or not, there is X:WP content in this :) _The Oblongs_ is a deeply twisted animated show that was on the WB network here in the US for a little while a couple TV seasons ago. 13 episodes were made, but not all were aired on the WB. One of them, "Heroine Addict" was about the Oblongs' daughter's obsession with the tv show "Velva The Warrior", and her mother's quest to get her the Velva doll she's jonesing for. It's absolutely hysterical, and even has a reference to Xena Night at Meow Mix (!). Ever since it aired I've been trying to get a complete copy, to no avail ... none of the advance listings indicated that the episode was going to be of interest to Xenites, and it was never shown again. Until now. Cartoon Network has added _The Oblongs_ to it's Sunday night "Adult Swim" programming lineup, yay!! I found an episode guide online which indicates that "Heroine Addict" will air in October, but I know that Cartoon Network sometimes shuffles its schedule around, so I'll keep an eye on TiVo's To Do List and let y'all know. (I'm definitely taping it this time!!) For info on the show, you can go to the Adult Swim site (http://www.adultswim.com) or the great episode guide I found: http://www.tvtome.com/Oblongs/. P.S. While I'm here, I just want to thank everyone for being such a great group of folks. I run another (much smaller) list that is in the process of imploding thanks to one bad apple, and the experience is just reminding me how lucky I am to have a bunch of mature, intelligent fellow Xenites here. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
