There were no surprises there actually. BTW would you forward the results to the lists that you sent the poll to? << (I hasten to add, obviously you can't judge a whole list by the votes of a few members who happened to answer this poll, but I'm just curious to see how they compare.) >> Actually, I think I can on some level. This is because the votes that I got from the members on each list supported the predominant Gist of the Posts on said lists. Here's the breakdown. You can do your own percentages :) Chak. Refs. Like several others have posted, this was not one of my favorite eps, but after seeing all the posts I had to rewatch it last night [any excuse, right !]. I was previously disappointed in some ways that they did not capture the 'fierce fighter' type that was portrayed so well in 'The Price', but guess that would not figure in so well with this storyline.. Was it just me or did the actor who played Rahl seem familiar? After rewatching the ep last night, he strikes me as a cross between Michael Ironside and Jack Nicholson. It just depended on the camera angles I guess. > I always felt that the TPTB often trusted their audience to be smart enough to > pick up on the references to past episodes without obvious referencing. That's one of the things I *really* liked about the series, they did not reduce things to the lowest common denominator -- sometimes it really made you think! And in no area did you have all voters hate or all voters like. That shows the diversity of people here even within a fandom. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Besides I can accept the premise of the episode. And as a one time (somewhat aging) warrior. I would rather "go out" with a rifle/sword in my hand than a walker/"zimmer frame". Besides if Xena and Gabrielle had "ridden off into the sunset", I most likely would have engaged in a week of projectile vomiting and writing scathing posts and un*ub-ing. She killed off villages with the same passing as a kid kicking over a anthill. Her past came back (once again) to haunt er at the series end (and we also remember Xena started in the hercules episodes as a bad guy). Like FIN or not it is obvious xena and gabrielle were not gonna be outted nor ride off hand in hand to finish off the series. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
