Hewitt" Sampo players are well-known for being multi-region programmable, see > Area450.com for heaps of info and details sampo dvd players were pulled by curcuit city because they were programmable to a specific region. The area supervisor said they were only allowed to sell region 1 players in their usa stores. All dvd players are not programmable just like they are not all capable of DTS nor have same compentent outlets, etc. ..and now with dvd's as cheap as vcrs and generic players running amok a consumer has to be careful not to get a player that wont play "gold" dvds and other actual dvd formats 9Not counting vcd, cd, cdr, dvdr, etc) I am also a happy laptop dvd, sony portable and sampo owner ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. KKK and other groups establish sites and lists to do the same thing and spread hatred and share their anger. Spending more time harping on what pisses us off instead of living and enjoying and talking about things that we enjoy. Hatred is indeed a stronger emotion than love and it is far easier to do. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. IMHO, it's best to just accept that not everyone sees things the > way you do and go on with your day. But that may just be me I agree. I am not gonna stop associating with a group of people because everyone doesnt agree with me. Adversity is everywhere. and to this comment that she also left: If Xena got treated like any other hero why didn't they chop Hercules' head off, hang His naked, headless body up for Iolus to find and mount His head on a cutting board? 1. Lets look at the past of hercules and Xena. Lets look at kills. Let us look at Xena's track record when she was a warlord and villain. Heck, she came to be by being a villain in hercules show. Without hercules there would never have been xena (although Xena was 1000 times a better show in my opinion ). 2. Any of us can thru fantasy and sci fi and note gruesome endings for heroes. Not saying i liked or hated FIN...I just accept it happened and I concentrate on the early season episodes that I liked the most. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Hewitt" Subject: [chakram-refugees] "Lost Mariner" and touching Gabrielle initiates embrace when Xena descends from mast. Xena, stroking Gabrielle's hair, asks, "Are you all right?" Shortly thereafter, Xena's hand is on Gabrielle's shoulder. Xena touches Gabrielle in initiating her into the anti-nausea wrist-thump. When Xena says "Poseidon doean't want us to get to Charybdis", Gabrielle grabs Xena, saying "That means you're right!" Then they both hold onto each other. At the height of the tempest Xena calls, "Over here!" and Gabrielle runs to her arms. Shortly later they fall against each other as the boat rocks violently, and Cecrops leaps overboard. When they have reached land, Xena lays her hand on Gabrielle's shoulder as she recovers; Gabrielle has her hand on Xena's arm as Xena helps her up. They walk off together with arms around each other; Gabrielle's arm remains longer around Xena noticeably longer. __________________ More than ever as I watched this again, had Xena lived I see Cecrops as the ONLY character in the series with the depth, the charisma, level of interaction with gods, great leadership ability, subjection to time-displacement, the essential goodness, the near despair at having caused suffering to others, the breadth of experience, the intellect, the cunning, the ability to love deeply, the vitality, even the very size and strength of the man-- to have become Xena's life-mate as an equal. Just as-- one hopes-- with Lucy and Renee, Xena and Gabrielle will always hold special places in each other's hearts, but (once it's safe for yet another nice fellow and Gab to get mutually attracted ;-) they would have the children they want and grow old in the companionship of mates who match them. I just saw Legacy recently and it is quite obviously Gabrielle was famous for her writing. As for Sydney Sheldon I only read one of his books and it was awful so therefore I must be a find judge of writers. I will however not unsubscribe from this list because of the obstinate refusal of some to recognize Gabrielle's fine literary talents. No unlike some I will BATTLE ON and defend the little bard from her nefarious bashers (VBG). I trust KT will get around this, possibly with something like, "Xena didn't want to hurt Gab's feelings," or, "Xena's liking the writer personally isn't necessarily a reflection on her tastes regarding the writing," or, "So, she read the scrolls to baby Eve. What does that prove, except that maybe Eve liked the sound of Xena's voice?" or, "Pfff, so what? I've always said I like that Xena wasn't perfect."
