Cravat teemed up with former acrobatics partner Burt Lancaster for 2 or 3 movies, all of which think he played a mute." I do remember him in the Lancaster films and I though of him also as the prototype for the acrobat referred to in the orginal caste. "And then there is Disney Zorro series. Zorro had a mute sidekick. I've recorded some episode of that for my sister who loved the show when she was a kid." Yes I remeber him also. As a character I didn't think he worked too well but as Zorro's servant it pretty much guarenteed he wouldn't spill the beans abou Zorro's true identity. Young" Subject: [chakram-refugees] FIN-DC DVD *Thanks* to the generosity of a loyal local Xenite, I got to finally watch the FIN-DC DVD. ;) It's *great*, but I'm concerned that it's not very "accessible"technically to most of the general public. Although the behind-the-scenes footage was interesting (Sharon, you did a *great* job as usual, except for a *leetle* mumbling ;) ), I'm not sure most people without any video background would understand some of it. More importantly, the running commentary by RTapert, LL, and ROC was *quite technical* and for insiders, mostly, IMO. Would the general public know what a teaser was, or ADR, or a mark, or CGI? It was interesting that for the most part, the names of the minor speaking actors were forgotten by the stars and producers. ;P But, OTOH, it was *very cool* to hear their candid comments on what could've been done better, what their original ideas were behind those moments, and their own very critical assessments of how successful particular scenes or performances were. A lot of their cynical remarks were ones that I had, myself, while watching. ;) For those hoping for a 7th season, LL pretty much confirmed what the rest of us knew: she was *dang-tired* at the end of S6, and took 6 mos. to recouperate from XWP. Even though she publicly said she was disappointed the show ended, IMO and in other's, she really wasn't looking forward to a 7th season, if there were one in the cards. I liked the fact that LL noted what I had asked Tapert at the 2nd Burbank Con, and that was why there was a lack of authentic Asian actors on the show. She admitted in her commentary that that was a problem, but I still couldn't figure out why they didn't fix it by flying in actors from LA or from here in Hawai'i to play those roles which were so crucial to the story, especially since it was set in Japan. It's interesting to note that both stars, LL and ROC, ended up not agreeing at all about the subtext issue, even as late as this DVD came out. LL claimed she didn't play the subtext at all during FIN, but when it aired she saw it; ROC says she didn't play it at all, and didn't see it in the final product. *Hmmmmm*.....no wonder the fans don't agree, either.;=) Just FYI, ;) - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * "I think New Zealand geographically comes from * * ...
