Not the Mark 1? Last seen in Gabs' possession, of course. (Here, I have to admit that my subconscious is better than I give it credit for. I thought Falafel had the Mark 2 chacky, but I thought I remembered Xena throwing the Mark 1 chacky - which would have constituted a chacky-YAXI (chaxi? :) But I *really* never noticed which model they were. So I had to watch the ep. Well, my subconscious was right and there is no YAXI - the chacky Alti got from Falafel and gave Xena later in the ep was the Mark 2 'S'-chacky. But when first revived, Xena was wearing a replica Mark 1 which broke when she threw it. This leaves the chacky in Xena Scrolls as the YAXI, since it was a broken Mark 1. Which should surely have disappeared when the dark and light chackys were merged in Chakram. (snip) > > Incidentally, in Ides / Chakram it was never shown how Amarice got it, > > IIRC. Either she stole it from inside the fort - which is pretty brave - or the Romans just threw it out on their junkpile. Unless some Roman with a sense of irony or respect or something propped it at the base of Xena's cross. But they didn't show that in the ep - a detail RT missed, I think. (Unless he did and I missed it :) Actually, I have to say that Amarice, Joxer and Eli were all pretty brave in this ep - stealing the Romans' guarded victims from just outside their fort was a very high-risk occupation. I expect the penalty was death by you-know-what, it usually was with the Romans. Altogether a very single-minded people. A bit like Vogons, I think. > > While we're on the subject, that presumably means Xena spent the whole of > > Fallen Angel without her chacky. (I think). But, IMO, FA was the only ep where she might have had a use for it but just didn't have it in her possession. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. (Unless he > did and I missed it :) It would be interesting to think that Brutus may have done something like that. At least in *this* ep he still seemed to be a honorable yet duty-bound kind of guy. He did, after all, prevent Amarice's immediate execution for her assaulting one of the guards [at Gabrielle's request]. He did also seem distressed upon finding that Caesar had ordered the deaths of everyone he had brought in from Gabrielle's group. > Actually, I have to say that Amarice, Joxer and Eli were all pretty brave in > this ep - stealing the Romans' guarded victims from just outside their fort > was a very high-risk occupation. Being a Joxer fan, I've got to say that it seemed a pretty noble thing for him to do... to come unbidden to try to help X & G when he sensed they were in trouble. I still am very impressed by the solemnity [sp?] that was shown when X & G were being removed from the crosses. I thought Joxer's movements and expressions were very well done, He seemed especially distraught while doing this. Of course he has known them the longest too! I thought I'd give ya'll a peek at issue #19. There were some interesting notes on the recent photo approval forms I sent to Lucy and Renee that I thought you might enjoy. I sent a batch of photos from Hercules episodes where Lucy did crossovers. Next to one of the numbers was a smiley face. When I looked up the matching photo, it turned out to be from "Stranger In A Strange World." It's a photo of Xena at the end of the cake fight with Aphrodite. Lucy said she just loved that shot. Sure can't accuse her of only clearing photos where she looks perfect as so often happens in Hollywood. In fact, both Lucy and Renee have never had any qualms about approving photos where they were messed up, dirty, funny-looking or screaming in battle. Renee wrote "Wow!" next to one from Hercules and the Lost Kingdom. It is a picture of Renee as Deianeira standing before a castle. She thought the composition of the photo was stunning with the castle in the background and the flowing robes of her costume. Renee happened to be in our office when the photos for the photo club "comedies" month were ready to approve and she sat down at my desk and began to look them over. I heard her chuckling and went over to see what was going on. "When I got into this business, I never thought I'd have to make a note like this," she said, laughing and pointing at what she'd written. This is what was on the approval form, "Please crop out pasties." It was a photo of one of the naked dancing Gabrielles from "The Quill Is Mightier." You can check out the pic from February 2002 (www.creationent.com/outback/xpc/02/feb02/Feb2002.html) and see how we did. The DVD for the finale had just been released when I interviewed Lucy for issue #19. I listened to the commentary done by her, Renee and Rob and asked follow-up questions to things mentioned on the DVD. In her interview, Lucy talks about playing Young Xena, doing cartwheels, Xena's relationship with the young women in her life and Xena's choice to save the 40,000 villagers of Higuchi rather than staying with Gabrielle. Guess which character from the show she misses most. For her interview, Renee gives us a look into her life as a student studying Shakespeare at Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum. We learn her thoughts about Gabrielle taking a fencing class, being given a scene where she finds a headless body for the second time in her acting career and the joys of scansion. Wait till you read who turned up in her Shakespeare class! Her thoughts on Lucy being "loopy." And we find out which character from the series Renee misses most. You can see the photos Lucy and Renee liked on the fan club page at www.creationent.com/outback/fanclubs Sharon Official Xena Fan Club ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
