(And apparently we have a > case in svs7 -- "Fallen", if anyone cares to include that.) Of course in 'Chakram' Amarice was carrying the broken one in her bag. But that doesn't realy count as 'appropriated'. Incidentally, in Ides / Chakram it was never shown how Amarice got it, IIRC. It was last seen in Ides when it fell on the ground inside the fort. How Amarice got it we don't know, but I've always thought that was a big point in her favour, and a rather touching moment when she gave it to Xena. While we're on the subject, that presumably means Xena spent the whole of Fallen Angel without her chacky. (I think). If so, was that the only ep (other than flashbacks to the far past) that Xena was chacky-less for the whole ep? cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Anyway, the chacky won. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Right at the start of You Are There, one of the Valkyrie says to Xena: "But you were a Valkyrie once, Xena. You know the way to Valhalla. Die a hero's death. I'll escort you there myself." X: "That's part of my long-range plan. Right now, I just need to see Odin." Of course, Xena may have just been speaking in generalities. Still, it's suggestive I think. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Where she got it (i.e., where Falafel got it) is a mystery. > Of course in 'Chakram' Amarice was carrying the broken one in her bag. But > that doesn't really count as 'appropriated'. I think you're right about that. It *had* been appropriated -- but by Callisto. By the time Amarice came to have it, Xena wouldn't have had much concern about the matter. On the other hand, Xena didn't have much say in Gab's having it in FIN, either. (Or B in "The Return of the Valkyrie"). And who would we say was responsible for its...odd...uses in "The Furies"? Certainly "Mavis" was surprised... True, Xena still had it, but, umm, did Xena have Xena? From the vantage point of Xena's remarks in "A Day in the Life", as you pointed out, maybe all this counts for something. > Incidentally, in Ides / Chakram it was never shown how Amarice got it, IIRC. > It was last seen in Ides when it fell on the ground inside the fort. How > Amarice got it we don't know, but I've always thought that was a big point in > her favour, and a rather touching moment when she gave it to Xena. Yes, one way or another, she must have retrieved it from the Romans. And I doubt they just gave it to her. Of course, that wasn't the only time the chakram broke -- but I think "The Xena Scrolls" is the only other time it did, yes? > While we're on the subject, that presumably means Xena spent the whole of > Fallen Angel without her chacky. (I think). If so, was that the only ep > (other than flashbacks to the far past) that Xena was chacky-less for the > whole ep? I think it may be. But it wasn't the only ep in which she didn't *use* it -- e.gg., "Dreamworker" and "Antony and Cleopatra" come to mind in that context.
