They worked so hard, I loved it that they seemed to be enjoying themselves so. And I thought it would have been fitting that it returned whence it came (in some way) on Xena's death, just as Excalibur was returned to the lake when Arthur died. The most interesting suggestion was that, given more time for the ep, maybe Gabs could have been the one to return it. Which brings me to a question - I have a sort of feeling that the magic weapon that returns whence it came when the hero dies is probably quite common in mythology - but I have NO knowldge to back that idea up. Some of you lot are immensely knowledgeable in mythology - so, is my guess right? Or completely wrong. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. She replies to him, "It's not to late to make things right." For some reason I had not noticed it running the episode tape, but Renee O'Connor had a definite New Zealand accent. I suppose after 7 years living there that would make sense. It's fun because there was so much work on the New Zealanders having to cover over their accents, that now a US mainlander may be slowly losing hers.........LS ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. All I could think of was that Xena took pity on her, but for no real reason that I could see. Surely can't have been that she feared annoying Odin, 'cos she'd already split with Odin at that point. >> Yes, I'm wondering if maybe this was a YAXI. They had Xena give an explanation of why she wanted to leave Grinny locked up in her ugliness, forgetting that this doesn't address why Xena didn't kill her in the first place. I guess I'll go with my own fill-in, as usual -- which in this case has Xena wanting to leave Grinny around for later humiliation. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. We had to fill in an awful lot of gaps for ourselves. I almost felt like they were thinking, "Well, the fans have accepted YAXIs this long. Why kill ourselves over new loose ends in the last season, when we've got so many old ones we can't possibly tie up?" - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
