So complaining about US jobs going overseas sounds a bit blinkered. Very respectfully, if the US in its financial position can't solve its (un)employment problems, it can't blame the rest of the world for that. It wasn't our choice to have a lower standard of living and lower wage rates down here. I think we all (in NZ) do appreciate what Renpics did for the New Zealand film industry for six years. In fact for much of the time it *was* the New Zealand film industry. In an ideal world I'm sure we would much rather not need to be reliant on 'foreign' producers who might just as easily have decided to film in Australia or Brazil - or Hawaii. But as it is, Renpics did come here, and for that I think everyone in NZ - and especially West Auckland - has to be thankful. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. IseQween said that she found herself "wondering how Ares might respond to Xenas actions in Japa. I started exploring this idea a bit in November 2001, but didnt feel inspired to see it through until Kevin Smiths death in February 2002. The following is dedicated to the amazingly talented man whom Ill always remember as the God of War. http://cousinliz.com/fanfic/iseqween_ws.html And for those of you that are interested, the fan fiction cover I created for the story at the top of the page was done using the software Cinema 4D XL Ver 7.303. It's a nice 3D graphing software that I just finished learning how to use in a college class. - -- Cousin Liz eas01@fast.net Soulmates: http://cousinliz.com Xena Dinosaur Bards http://cousinliz.com/fanfic/fanfic.html ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I'm not going to get into any details or opinions here, but I did want to mention Jay Laga'aia, who appears in the very beginning of the film. He plays Captain Typho, Senator Amidala's pilot. Now that I think about it I did know he was going to be in the movie, but I completely forgot until after his scenes were done, and it suddenly clicked with me why that guy looked and sounded so familiar. The IMDB also indicates that Marton Csokas provides the voice of a creature named "Poggle The Lesser", but I have no recollection of who (or what) that was. Was Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett) involved in any RenPics productions? The name sounds really familiar, and he looked kind of familiar too ... the IMDB doesn't reveal anything I would have seen him in, but I know it can be incomplete, particularly for foreign actors. Or maybe he was in an episode of _Farscape_? Can anyone help me out here? ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
