Thinking it over, a body the size of Argo... ummmm, I'm not sure what to think now. The thought starts to get somewhat alarming. My view is, they fall into the water and are unconscious while the events in Illusia are going on. The only drawback with the 'dead' theory is, what brought them back to life? But I guess the answer is, that if Solan could create Illusia, maybe he could bring 'em back to life too. Thank you all for the very educational responses to my request for how to pronounce a couple of words. I even learned a new word just reading the posts. The word of today is: Obfuscate - To darken; To make obscure; To Confuse. It pleases me no end to see how educated some of us HCNB's (Hard Core Nut Balls) are. ============================================================ Consideration is given, Respect is earned, Jan. Others have noticed this too - -- I'm starting to get mail from frustrated digest subscribers. So, if I may just remind everyone of two of the "All Important Rules" of this list, which everyone received with their welcome message: "7.) When responding to a post, keep quotes to a minimum. Excessive quoting is particularly odious to the Digest members. "8.) No 'me too' posts, or posts less than 3 lines long." If you have any questions about either of these rules, please contact me directly. Thanks! Meredith@work meth@smoe.org Yahoo! I made a go at it, and decided to look into the Xena Live II play being offered in Chicago end of March. Is anyone here going? I am desperate for help, to be honest, because disabled and not wanting to doing this alone. The play sounds fun. Is this a radical thing to do in my early 50's or what!? Private responses welcome. What grusome discussion is here being held....being slightly poetic about it. I thought I'd do Merriam-Webster a favor and use their internet dictionary: Death: "a permanent cessation of all vital functions : the end of life " This reminds me more of what Joxer was put through by Xena when she killed him off in ...now what was that amazon program 5th Season again? Kindred Spirits! When Xena goes through several steps to stop all of Joxer's bodily functions. Then again, I've heard (if this holds water) that one can live a certain amount of seconds after heart and brain stop, but after that, it's too late. So under this definition, Joxer was indeed killed by Xena in that fight. Does this apply to any Xena or Gabrielle deaths? ..... Does this sound right to folks? Has this been at all helpful? Maybe not, but I enjoyed the research : ) Another definition was for Brain Death: : "final cessation of activity in the central nervous system especially as indicated by a flat electroencephalogram for a predetermined length of time" Using the prior definination, however, of cessation of all vital functions, I might consider Xena having been dead in Greater Good. I believe that Salmoneous checked out Xena's breath, but may not have checked heart beat and pulse. ?Yes, he did check her throat pulse. We don't have enough information to go on this, and I'm glad I'm not writing a report for medical school! Did X & G die in Bitter Suite? Hard to tell. They look UNCONSCIOUS in the water. Can't tell whether they are dead or unconscious. Toss up. MMMMM...and as to the discussion between Sojourner and Mirrordrum about crossing the river styx, (not that I'm not having fun watching you two "fight'), but I've never been confused by the crossing the river Styx thing. Xena was only there as a visitor, the times she CHOSE to go down, and I am thinking about Mortal Beloved, and Hades had to tell Xena to go back out the way she came in. Not only was she mortal, just visiting, but even Marcus was made temporarily mortal, so he could do the same thing. Xena also went for a little visit in God-Fearing Child, and she as well as Gabrielle voluntarily went there, as living humans, to try to get Hade' invisible helmet. The only drawback that visiting Tartarus seems to have, from what I've gathered, is that your baby can be born stillborn in you stay in death's territory too long (God-Fearing Child); and even in that show, ARES lost his powers too. I don't know if they have a lease provision that if you are living, and overstay your welcome there, let's say five years, you become dead.....just for jokes.
