Well, that was pretty much because business was *hurting*. ;( I won't go into details publicly, because I don't know how much was told to me in confidence, but basically it's been hard to make $$, especially at the smaller venues (I'm pretty sure they lost $$ when they came out here to Hawai'i a few years ago ;( ). Part of the reason, I think, is the (IMO) high speaker's fees and costs they must have to pay, in addition to the cost of each location rental, etc. If they don't get the numbers they need to break even, then it's another loss they have to swallow. Even for them, I imagine it must be difficult to make entrance fees reasonable for the fans, while making them high enough to cover their costs. That's why I didn't mind paying a little more for the LL & ROC Pasadena Con video, even though I know some were griping about the price; it's all part of the machinery that helps us see the stars at a reasonable cost. ;) Just MO, - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * "I think New Zealand geographically comes from * * ...
