They probably showed most of the footage they had, since it went on for about a min. or so, and showed a tearful LL remembering the pain of the miscarriage. ;( Should be interesting to see the whole piece on Mon. and whether she blames the series for the miscarriage (just speculation on my part). So I'm looking at a little piece of card which has written on it "The Auckland Theatre Company presents The Vagina Monologues Starring Lucy LAWLESS Danielle CORMACK Madeleine SAMI" with small publicity pics of the three - LL with long hair looking straight at the camera (I've seen the photo before) DC with long curly hair, looking at the camera with one eyebrow slightly raised And Madeleine Sami who looks to be Maori or Pacific Islander, who I don't know, but she's in the company of the most famous (LL) and probably the most experienced (DC) actresses in New Zealand. It doesn't happen till Feb 20th so I guess I'll let you all know what I thought, then. And no, I am *not* going to smuggle in a videocamera and get evicted, sorry (quite aside from the fact I don't own one.....) Come-on mate - she was an Amazon Queen in Helicon - and was a hit at the Edinburgh Festival with her one-woman show http://www.abc.net.au/rn/arts/atoday/stories/s419623.htm In short - she's a star on the rise. Liz PS watching rerun of OAAA as I type - some powerful scenes. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. OK, so I'm ignorant. The only recent Amazon Queen I can remember was Marga (Sela Apera). [Expects to be bombarded with arcane esoterica about Varia, Blondie etc.... ] It will be very interesting to compare the three of them, then, won't it? I'm pleased I was persuaded to get off my chuff and book for it. T ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. WEAKENED? good gods, man, wouldn't you just want to see the woman do legit theatre regardless of the vehicle? what a one you are to be sure. i feel quite certain there's a kiwiism for what you are--something on the order of nitwit. and may i say that, while i would love to see her perform myself, i don't really feel envy but rather great good fortune as i shouldn't be able to attend whether you went or not and now you'll be going and, chattybritches extraordinaire that you are, you can tell us *all* about it. and don't leave out danielle, either, mate. so i'm just flat delighted. and not at all surprised that danielle is involved. perhaps my one surprise is that MH hasn't convinced them to let him do one of the monologues. i feel sure he'd be superb and quite genuine and very, very good. i'm sure that's a terribly politically incorrect thing to say but i don't care. rejoicing for you--even though you don't rejoice for yourself. hysterical doesn't count as rejoicing does it? cheers, md ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
