Hmm, I thought she musta done the deal on the way down the hole.... maybe Ares could suspend time for a while to allow for the negotiations (like he did with Xena in the battle in Eternal Bonds) - but the whole thing is pretty darn shaky. > Not only that, in Family Affair Hope chastises > Gabrielle for trying to kill her numerous times and says that Dahok saved > her ( perhaps Gabrielle was accidently saved also and she legimately had > some kind of amnesia about that). Yes, that is a possibility that occurred to me - not very satisfactory, though. > In this case TPTB > should have left well enough alone and we would have all been content never > knowing how Gabrielle got out the lava pit. > Yes, it's a great pity, 'cos SP _was_ interesting and had some great potential - the premise (that Xena had made this promise to Ares) and some of the intrigue and double-dealing between the two of them was fascinating. Actually, it's the Lone Ranger syndrome. Remember how he used to toddle off to his secret silver mine periodically to make some loot? (If you do, you're as geriatric as I am. And yes, I thought it was corny, even then ;) Anyway, there were silver mines near Amphipolis (yes, really), and that explains what Xena's doing in all those Xena-lite eps like The Prodigal and Athens Academy and The Play's The Thing - nipping off to the old mine for a bit of digging. (Didn't those wandering cyclops excuses strike us all as a bit thin?) T ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. The cost of Buffy's whole season one on DVD was $29.98 plus a minimal shipping cost. I myself will NOT be purchasing any Xena DVD sets knowing that they absolutely do not have to charge the outrageous prices that they do. ============================================================ Consideration is given, Respect is earned, Jan. Just keep one teensy thing in mind: the first season of _Buffy_ was only 13 episodes long. That fits onto just 3 DVDs, so it can be offered for a pretty resonable price. Remember this, or else you'll get major sticker shock with the season 2 pre-orders are available. I fully expect season 2 to be in the $40 - $50 range. If Creation is going to be the sole vendor of the X:WP DVD's then I shudder in fear to think of what the prices will be ... but hopefully the DVDs will be available in other outlets (such as amazon.com) as well, where we can pay less extortionate prices for them. (I also hope the DVDs will be available at other outlets, because otherwise sales figures will be nothing near what they could be, and then we won't get any more DVD releases. :/) ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I don't know about the "behind the scenes" work on the DVDs, but as for distribution, Creation isn't doing it, USA Entertainment is. You can already pre-order it at various online locations. List price is $24.95, so don't pay a penny more. Venator ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Many movies, which are of similar length are listed at more than that.
