Call to find out if yours does. I think it consists of 8 half-hour eps, 2 per country, with a second Kiwi one this week (about South Islanders), then a couple on gutsy Iranian women. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. He looks very different and sinister in this ep... whereas in Destiny he looked quite the part of the steady reliable healer. But his features are very recognisable. And I have to say I was struck again by how naive and just plain irritating Gabby was in those early eps ;) (Well, she was written as the Irritating Blonde ;) I hasten to admit she improved later... actually, I could forgive some of her irritatingness for the way she socked Nathaniel Lees' villain at the end of the ep. I guess Dreamworker was the first ep where they tried something more complex than the simple villains. Something psychological, so to speak. Xena's 'dark side' wears black contact lenses... like The Enforcer (IIRC) in the Herc ep of that name... very effective in creating a sinister look. However, I can't help noticing how youthful early Xena looks compared with the Xena of Seasons 4 to 6.... I don't think Gabby's looks have changed so much (though as I said her personality has). Just IMO T ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. In the TROC Xena seems to be a little less welcoming > if not just a bit hostile. > > Wasn't this Perdy a different actor from Perdycorpse in RoC? Perdicus was played by Scott Garrison in both "Beware Greeks..." and in "Return Of Callisto". Perdicus, the tall farmer boy, was played by Anton Bentley in "Sins Of The Past". I can see why Gabrielle wanted out of Poteidaia if she was betrothed to tall farmer boy, Perdy. But then watching this character again in "Beware.." I didn't see him much of a warrior either. Especially when he sat down next to Gabrielle for a chat, moved his sword to the side, crossed his legs and raised both arms up towards his back to lean on them. Was it the actor or the scene that made him look like a dork, I don't know. The hat he was wearing, going every which way, didn't help either. No spoiler here on X-Files, but did anyone else notice that there may have been a little episode mixed up in that hour of commercials? Yikes! I should have just taped it and watched it later! The amount of commercials they had I could have washed the car and painted the house! And the scenes were so short, if you sneezed, you missed it! By the gods....has this series always been like this or was it just last nights' episode? Bothersome, to say the least! But LL was wonderful, nonetheless! Just my thoughts.... ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Confusing Xena reruns with Xena Discussions and Xena/Lucy Lawless discussion about her appearance on OS/X-Files. This is going to be a whopper of confusion. I may leave out poster's names as the play continues. Cheryl Ande said, Also in this episode (Beware of Greeks) it is the first time Gabrielle [is]fighting with her staff. She is fact a very good fighter at this point so I must assume Xena and Gabrielle have been practicing staff fighting in between Xena sewing up the new duds for Gabby Before I mention X-Files, I saw another "Gabby staff" show. Was watching Sunday evening a bit of Buffy, Vampire Slayer, just waiting for Lucy Lawless to be on X-Files. And I got to watch Buffy take what was I believe her first staff-fighting lesson, and I'm thinkin', pleased, "Gabby they're all just following you." Another mysterioius poster said, >I'm especially proud of her.[LL in X-Files] > >i hope we get to see them on screen together. i'm curious to see if they work well together. > >> both women are consummate professionals with a sense of perspective and priorities. both are fine, though quite different, actors. GA can be very funny but her style is much drier and more understated than Lucy's. like lucy, GA always seems very comfortable w/ other women actors. i'd think their styles would be compatible.>> >> I saw the X-Files last night, and really wish we HAD seen both actresses on screen together interacting with each other. It is a bit frustrating, to have seen "Xena" all these years in almost all the actions and screen shots, unless, of course, she was absent for a specific reason that gave "Gabrielle" more stage time. The times between seeing her in X-Files were rather long. After, however, the 2nd shot of her, luring the guy in the water plant away toward her, to his untimely drowning, I knew this was a dangerous woman. Felt good to see that character aspect acted out by Lucy Lawless again. But there was something more reserved in it, in this show. And as I got frustrated, and a bit annoyed, I just slowed myself down and realized that one of the good aspects of this show that makes this particular drama likable, and the Suspense which creates the TERROR that they are attempting to create, is exactly what we saw with Lawless. This, also, is not the action show style we got to know Xena on. The plots may move very slowly. Lots of dialogue. Fear created by "near" appearences by the person in question, under dangerous-looking circumstance where obviously two people are killed, quickly, she is on screen one second then oFF, and she is someone who can hold her breath under water forever, and not care a d**n about whether or not she is naked. An Alien? A killer. She is here.....then she is gone. Chills. I WOULD love to see, as has been suggested, what happens when Gillian Anderson and Lucy Lawless interact on the screen. I have taped it. Looking forward to next week. Hope they can do it. L Lilli ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
