The biggest problem with the extended time tapes are that they are on a thinner substrate and this can cause some handleing and wear issues. This could be a problem for someone who was going to review many times. The manufacturers claim 2hrs. 40 min for T160's, that means loosing 10 minutes of commercials. A pain for the copier, or the chance of loosing something while pausing out some commercials on the original record. I'll just change my shopping list for t180's LeeD ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I think the context would've made it palatable. Based on what I've heard about the content of the script, I'm still not 100% convinced that musical rights issues was the real reason the episode was scrapped. But then again I've always loved a good conspiracy theory. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I'm doing a direct-from-Oxygen tape but haven't found any 180's. With a 160 at best speed, I was wondering about sacrificing that 10 mins. to get more of the interview. 9:00 - 11:20 the episode 11:20 - 11:30 an installment of the animated series "X-Chromosome" 11:30 - 12:00 The "Pure Oxygen" interview with Lucy. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. This was primarily due to my dislike of the whole "vengeance equals peace" idea. But I must say that this airing of the Director's cut seemed like a small gift, or peace offering if you will, from TPTB. Although I still have problems with Xena staying dead for the cause of vengeace, I will admit that seeing the originally unaired footage between Xena and Akemi which set this up, did help somewhat. It paved the way a little and helped it to not seem so out of left field. There was other new footage that was alot of fun to see, as well. Finally, for those of us romantics who love a happy ending. The final cut away was altered ever so slightly, removing the final scene of Gab alone on the ship. Instead, we are left with Xena's kiss to Gab's head and then dissolve to the top of the ship. The last thing we see is the two of them together. Maybe it's just me. I know it's a small thing, but I think this slight change shows that TPTB weren't out to simply hurt their fans. They just wanted to make some great hours of TV. In the end, they did hear the fans' unhappiness and I think they tried in some small way to show some sensitivity to those who were left feeling less than content. It may not have been the ending I hoped for, but it is still the show I love. XenAddict ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
