It's been fun watching Xena episodes on Oxygen, and seeing those little clips they have at the bottom. Talk about a sense of humor...along with Oxygen's clips, there is a chat participation on the Wednesday night episode..did those women (oops, maybe men also) REALLY type that fast while watching the show? Bless them! : ) The trivia is still fun. It made me go back and look at Whoosh again ( I am glad they kept the site running.) They mentioned, I believe, Jim Ngaata, who played Gareth...."the biggest, meanest giant that ever walked the earth." He probably looks a lot nicer under the make-up and acting. I was right. They said he was in <> and <>. In <>, he is listed as "warlord with head"(?) ...Oh, yeah, the guy who came into Caesar with a (ugh) FAKE Xena head. In , he's Maximinius. Maximinius...is he the guy who Xena turned down as a father, but then he asked her if she was interested in "a little casual sex?" (at which point she belted him.). Oh, it's time to look at my old tapes. Does anyone else please remember? Lilli (who is going to go back now to Whoosh and vote in a new up to 12 Favorite Xena Episodes for their next calendar.) ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I would much rather that we stick to the show rather than discussing any fanfic interpretation. That virtual season 7 is a Yahoo-List thing I think, so I'm sure it has a list already going for folks who want to discuss it. I don't particularly see why one set of fanfic should be given a more "sanctified" status than any other. By sticking with the pure show version, we all have a common text to work from. This of course still means they'll be dozens of versions of what happened and who did what to whom and why. But at least it is the valid and true text which lends absolute credence to the bare underlying facts of what actually happened in Xena's life. This higher level of factual Xena history that the show holds was absolutely proven by some of the responses to FINS. Xena has died numerous times in fanfic. Her death scene has often been written up. But this happening in fanfic made absolutely no blip on any of the show Xenaverse lists I'm on. Why--because that's just one individual's version of a Xena story. It did not come from Tapert et al and so is not "real" in the way that the show is. And I'd much prefer sticking to the "real". Let us consider, "WWVD" (V of course, being Ven) KT bows head in prayer, and finds the answer she'd hoped for. I THINK he wouldn't have allowed it. I often wonder that. I don't know if I would have stayed as obsessed as I was. It's very hard to say. BUT I fell in love with this show during season two and I fell harder than I ever had before for a show. So...shrug. She did have seething embers from the beginning I think, just not the lighter fluid fed roaring flames spewing from her soul's barbecue that we saw from season three on. She was a "troubled lass" right from the beginning. Poor soul. > wonders-- > >Should we try to stick to eps aired, or also include > >speculation about X&G's life post-FIN? > > Definitely negative! I'm the creator of and one of the XWPVS7 core team members... and I have no problem discussing it (obviously *L*) and I wanted to let everyone know that a) I'm here to answer questions if anyone has them but that b) if you do and it's not something which the entire list is going to be interested in, then you can email me privately with them and I'm happy to answer them. I had originally emailed Ven to see if I could post about it and he had said no because, while he thought it was a cool idea, it would lead to discussion about fanfic which he didn't want on chakram. So, something else to keep in mind if you do post about the VS since I don't want it to lead this list way off topic. And I also wanted to apologize that this - my first post - is pretty OT, but since Meredith brought it up, I hope this is ok. Cheers, Hadley ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. But I think it might be better if it were a seperate list. And there are various vehicles for a list of that type, Yahoogroups, for example. I think there are enough bones to chew with the 6 seasons we have, and current happingings.
