Seems this two guys Actually, it's more than a rumor, it's a fact. :) They even showed them filming a scene from it during the recent E! behind-the-scenes special on Buffy...it sounded like Sarah Michelle Gellar is probably dubbed though, probably the others too, although I dunno... -Sarah, aka the abbagirl (ardent Buffyphile as well as Xenite) ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I don't think it's competition. I wouldn't doubt that the fact that X:WP did a musical (nay, two) and had success with the idea helped Joss decide to go for it. But as far as competition ... nah. _Buffy_ and _Xena_ certainly aren't the only shows to ever kill off their name character. Actually, I wish that when X:WP was in production TPTB had taken a few hints from _Buffy_. It would have been a more consistently solid show that way, IMHO. Any comments/thoughts" Well I don't know about the tree thing but..... Yes it seems to me at least that Buffy has been influence very much by Xena. If you notice Buffy, the character, has grown darker and seems to exhibite a lot more angst that in the first season. I also think the Willow-Tara relationship would not have been attempted if not for Xena's use of subtext. Joss has gone farther than Xena but he isn't hampered by the necessity for his show to be PG. I have been told that he had to fight the WB about a Tara and Willow kiss and it will be interesting to see how supportive UPN will be the lesbian relationship. Of course Willow's relationship is with a secondary character rather than the main character. I also see the growth of Willow's character as somewhat similar to Gabrielle's growth throughout the season. For my money Willow is just as important character as Buffy. I think the one other similarity is of course that both shows have been blessed with extremely talented actresses and creators who really love their shows. Rob let others let it wander. He seems to have been more of an "executive producer" and Joss seems to be more hands on. Maybe the experience of "Buffy, the Movie" gave him a "heads up" LeeD; Warrior Jester ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
