Anybody out there? My name is Scott Tissue, a lifelong resident of San Diego CA (don't hate me because I'm warm), and yes, I've had many opportunities to see Joy perform in town here. One of the first was at a tiny coffeehouse in a place called University Heights; the joint was called Twiggs, a little place with a capacity of about 35. I don't remember if she was on the bill with Cindy Lee Berryhill (whom I would follow ANYWHERE) or just on her own, but I do recall that Joy was wearing her out-of-character tight blue Levi's and looking sexy as hell, as always. I might have seen her once at the Innerchange Coffeehouse, but I honestly don't remember. More recently I've had the chance to check out her show every Wednesday night for the longest tyme last year, in a period when Cindy, Lisa Sanders, and Elizabeth Hummel all played regularly and in some cases weekly, and I attended every show I could. I'll forever remember the nights I spent with a double iced mocha at the Claire de Lune Coffeehouse in San Diego, seated at the very front, relaxing, enjoying the atmosphere, enjoying my favorite drink, and watching that tall drink of water Joy and listening to some terrific music, live. That whole period is one that I will fondly remember in later years. As for me, in case you care to know, I'm 41, work for a newspaper, volunteer at the YWCA, and do a radio show every Saturday afternoon, spinnin' the hits from 2-6 on SDSU's underground KCR-FM, returning to my lair where I live alone except for one cat and 5,000 records (only 3,000 are actually mine). And yes, I waste a lot of tyme on the computer. Hell yes. That's my so-called life. Anybody else? Scott Tissue El Cajon CA live on-line: KCR-FM (killer chick rock) http://kcr.sdsu.edu P.S.: Duff, izzat you? _The_ Duff in Kansas who mastermynds the living room concerts and friend of Stephanie the Greek Poet Chyck?
