Well, for James and me, debate is a way of life. ;) And gracious, I >miss Jill :D! Are you still around, ListMum? ;) Me too. And reading some of Jill's posts, I'm seeing names of artists I discovered at some point unknowingly, and now their CDs rest on my rack. And Jill :D knew about them all along :) >>It was kinda funny...since last weekend's folk fest here in Ottawa, the >>part of my brain that enjoys Moxy has quadrupled in size...I just >love >>those boys. > >And how can one not? :) It's not possible :) I went so crazy I even joined ammf! eek! >>It was hilarious to see me referring to Jian as "the cute long-haired >>>guy" in those posts from years past, before I knew what the hell I >>was talking about (not that I necessarily do now :)...and not that Jian >>isn't cute or long-haired :)) > >Well, perhaps not so long-haired anymore. ;) But he would just love that. > Heh. Jian knows he makes the ladies swoon :) And shoulder length still constitutes long. >>Bryson and Hawksley Workman...and dammit, Ian and Peter better be playing >>with Jim this time! > >Did you go see the madman Hawksley, Shawna? Do explain to the list the >wonders (and horrors!) of Mr. Workman's live show. ;) Oh boy... I did indeed see Hawksley. That man...well, he is just one strange case. Sometimes he sounds like he's singing opera (in a very high range), the next second he's yodeling...then he's howling... He calls his band The Wolves and was talking about how he needed to get them home and ready to start school. His song intros are strange, sometimes incoherent babbling about stuff that makes you think "now, where did *that* come from?" Then when he starts the song, you get the impression that what he was trying to say really did have to do with the song. He talked about how his grandma used to make him wear lipstick...and proceeded to apply bright red lipstick to his lips. Then he would react to some noise that seemed only present in his head... Very entertaining. And funny. Makes you wonder if he's really like that. Quirky pop says it best. I'd suggest going to see him, but only if there were other good acts on the bill or it was pretty cheap. What can you tell me about Andrea Florian (besides she's Ani-esque and is friends with Martina)? Two friends of mine are opening for her when she comes to town. What should I expect? I've heard some good things. I saw her at the Red Door Benefit... and while she seems musicially proficient, I didn't find her particularly unique. In fact, I'd say she is a dead ringer for Ani. The fact that she has one of those grrrrrrrrrrl power songs entitled "Feminist" doesn't help :) - - Julian - -- Julian C. Dunn IEEE Student Branch Secretary / Asst.
