I had wanted to go but really hadn't planned on going. Then I got an email this morning with the performer list. When I saw Moxy Fruvous was going to be there (there's the Canadian content of the post ;-) that sealed the deal. Last night's finale was a *bit* farcical, like >when Fraser and Ray get rescued from an ice crevasse by Fraser's >classmate from Grade 4 who just happens to be there... > >Anyway, they played Full of Grace (I think) at about the middle of >the show, where the real Ray Vecchio is in the hospital. I was *just* going to type out a post about the DS finale when Lisa's message popped up on my screen! :-) Oh, well, ya beat me to it! Yes, I was also sad to see one of the few great shows on TV (and one of the increasingly few I watch - R.I.P. "Cupid", as well ) end. But it was such an amusing, cleverly-written episode, and it's great that they were at least given the opportunity to end it properly. It was *so* nice to see the "real Ray" back - as much as I love Callum Keith Rennie's cool Canuck acting style, David Marciano had been sorely missed (although I maintain the real Ray would never have gotten married at the end like that, dammit! What was up with that? ;P). I will truly miss Paul Gross (and not just for the obvious reasons - ;P) - the guy is a great all-'round actor (didja know he was up for the Greg Kinnear role in "As Good As it Gets", but they thought him 'too classically handsome'?!), writer, producer, *and* singer. Whew - that's talent, baby. He pretty much single-handedly kept the show going after CBS pulled out. And of course there was that great music on the show - in keeping with their partnership with Nettwerk's soundtracks division, Unforescene (get it, get it? ;)) Records, they played a bunch of Nettwerk or Nettwerk-managed artists all the way through to last night's finale, which featured Sarah's "Full of Grace", Moist's "Resurrection", and a really, really nice placement of Tara MacLean's "Holy Tears". Man, I miss the show already. ;-) - - Tab :) Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of canadian-music-digest V2 #50 ***********************************
