So here's a brief summary of what's up... RESIDENCY I'll be doing at least a 3 week residency at a new club on Queen, "CarbonEight" Wednesdays beginning Feb. 17. The club is located at 271 Queen W. just west of Duncan (one block east of the CITY TV building). The run may be extended depending on how it goes. Right now the 17, 24 and March 3 are firm. The show will feature Kurt Swinghammer (guitar) and Maury Lafoy (bass) who, as well as backing me up, will be performing sets of their own material. Both Maury and Kurt have new recordings which will be available shortly. THE ALBUM "Good and Gone" is now on its second pressing having sold out of the initial run. It has a new design, though still makes use of all the original photography and artwork. So far, I've been working it on the local level but with the next pressing I'll be taking on College radio and press across the country. Here's a sample of some reviews: "Robinson's distinctive rasp and Kurt Swinghammer's smartly textured production all combine to captivate...[the] brilliant lyricalminimalism is thoroughly compelling. Three listens and you'll be hooked." -Chart Magazine "There's enough genuine moments of dark, down by the lake moodiness here to satisfy even the most demanding consumers of mature, thoughtful rock music" -Eye Weekly "It's great." -Now Magazine "Good and Gone" is currently available at the downtown locations of HMV and Tower records as well as at shows. As always, I love to hear from you so please keep in touch. I'll have more updates soon. Love and Best wishes, Jeremy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Feb 1999 09:36:43 -0500 (EST) From: James McGarry Subject: Live on the Net - Thursday from Detroit (fwd) Live from the Motor City, the Hip. Maybe a tribute to a certain U2 member, but probably just to help us simple music consumers. ;-) ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 10 Feb 1999 17:35:23 -0500 From: The Tragically Hip To: tth-news@thehip.com Subject: Live on the Net - Thursday from Detroit Greetings Everyone, Thanks for all the tour feedback.
