Finch" Subject: Rufus and BF5 Saw Rufus Wainwright on Sessions at West 54th this weekend. He's now on my list of "as soon as my cash flow improves I'll getting getting the CD" list. Luckily the cash flow should be getting better in the next three weeks or so. I really loved his sound. However I must say, he seemed like a real ass during the interview session. Of course, being that I'm a die hard BNL fan I've gotten so used to their style a lot of musicians seem like that compared to them since they are such down to earth, genuinely nice people (except for Tyler :). Plus, Rufus shared the program with Phish, who are also very nice, down to earth guys. Or maybe it's just me. And while they are not Canadian, I must comment on something about Ben Folds Five. Those of you who are BF5 fans and know me, know that we all live here in the wonderful college town of Chapel Hill. Their "Whatever and Ever Amen" CD was recorded just a few blocks from where I work. One day last week while I was bored at work, I decided to look them up in the phone book, just to see if they were listed. Everyone but Ben Folds was listed. I found this both odd and somewhat comforting all at the same time. Kinda cool I guess. And if the phone book that just came out last month is to be trusted, Darren Jessee, whom I certainly would never inspire to write another song about being dumped, now lives just around a few corners from me. Here's to hoping I run into him at the local Food Lion one day ;-). Maybe I'll look up the members of the Squirrel Nut Zippers later today if it's slow enough. rox ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ rdfinch@mindspring.com http://www.unc.edu/~roxfinch In the end, only kindness matters. --Jewel, "Hands" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Jan 1999 14:48:48 PST From: "Shawna Caspi" Subject: Re: Juno Nominees Announced on Jan 27th @ Noon!
