Did anyone else notice that the Barenaked Ladies have been taken off the lineup? (They were there right?) But the Edge has added The Arrogant Worms...I dunno how this works, but I'm still going to see WS and Emm, but thought I'll let y'all know, just in case some of you wanted to see BNL...I wonder what happened? Maybe it was just a typo in the first place...anyway, Emm's there and that's all that matters to me... Some of us managed to catch them at the very first NxNE, they were hilarious!! They will make waking up that early fun! I can't go, but I'm hoping for a full and complete report :-) James. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Dec 1998 14:43:42 -0500 From: Steve I Subject: Re: Humble & Fred Spectacular... That's too bad, it would have been great to have Emm on a bill that included a band as high profile as the BNL. However, that said, I'll echo comments by others that the lowly Worms may not be as flashy as the BNL, but they're just as great IMO. They're a comedic folk band from Kingston (sigh), and a riot to see live. They got their start on the stage (and on the street) doing comedy skits and doing occasional songs, but started doing the songs full time because they were such a hit. Several albums later they're still not that big unfortunately, but they're still just as funny, and now a lot more polished. I'm probably one of the very few people for whom this lineup change makes it *more* likely I'll go to this show, not less. :-) Steve ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Dec 1998 19:57:41 -0500 (EST) From: James McGarry Subject: RadioSonic Where: CBC Radio Two When/Who: ______________________________________________________________________ |Date |Session |Listening Booth |Concert | +-------+----------------+---------------------+-----------------------+ |Dec 19 | |Squirrel Nut Zippers | | |Dec 26 |Lee Aaron | |Jane Sibbery | |Jan 02 | --------------- Highlights Show --------------------------- | |Jan 09 |Arlene Bishop |Scratching Post |PJ Harvey | |Jan 16 |Rufus Wainwright|The Bonaduces |TBA | |Jan 23 |Lily Frost |Strawberry |Colin James | |Jan 30 |Tricky Woo |Bil Puddle |Asian Dub Foundation | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ How: On your radio, sonically.
