Its that the women are the front people for the band, they do most of the interviews. Ditto for bands like No Doubt, The Cardigans (LF), Wild Strawberries (LF), and Save Ferris... rife with testosterone, but wrapped in cuddly estrogen... ...with female front people it seems to make it count as a vehicle for women... ...right now its just marketing anyway. Or at least I hope Sarah M proved her point! :-) James. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 07 Dec 1998 18:15:35 PST From: "Tabassum Siddiqui" Subject: (OAC) Melanie and Chantal on Mix 99.9 Xmas show... Hey, all... This is mainly for Toronto-area folks, but in this age of RealAudio, I figure many of you are enjoying radio stations far and wide, so this may be of interest to you as well... Toronto pop/rock station Mix 99.9's morning show will be featuring Melanie Doane and Chantal Kreviazuk, among others, at their annual Christmas show Dec. 19 (I think). Local folks can call in to win tickets to the actual event at the Sheraton Centre, but the show will be live to air as well. - - Tab :) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1998 23:54:06 -0500 From: "Tumbling Andrea " Subject: Re: (OAC) Melanie and Chantal on Mix 99.9 Xmas show...
