But for me this doesn't work, at all. Emm is very unique in someway, her sense of humour for one... ...vocally, there is a certain melodic nature, which might brook some similarities with Sarah's. Only Emm could've written Hook Machine. I suppose her defining trait is lyrics that have a sly and wry nature. But go, if you like female-vocalists, you'll really like Emm. I heard a song on the radio the other day by Tara Maclean, called "Hold Me Jordan". I really liked it, but I couldn't find the album it was on at the record store. There was a '96 CD called Silence, and an EP with about five songs on it from '97. Is there a more recent (or upcoming) album that the song might be on? Also, is Silence a good album? For those who have heard "Hold Me Jordan", is that the style of the rest of her music, or who could she be compared to? Finch" Subject: Re: Song by Tara Maclean? I just happen to be listening to Silence right now :). "Hold Me Jordan" is on the 2CD set Lilith Fair A Celebration of Women in Music. I'd say "Hold Me Jordan" is very indicative to the rest of her music. While I like the song, I like the stuff on Silence much better. I personally really love Silence. I find it very soothing. It also seems to have something of a Celtic feel to it (but not nearly to the same extent as Loreena McKennitt), but that may be me. I have two bootlegs of her stuff if you find you like her. And that goes for other members as well. I got them from two different people on the 'in-the-wings' list. I'm not on the list anymore. I unsubbed about a year ago because I was just getting way too much mail from so many different places (not that itw was incredibly busy at that time; but "Fumblers" was always way too busy :). Since I recently left a very high traffic list I'm thinking about rejoining if it is still exists. Hope that helps! rox ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ rdfinch@mindspring.com http://www.unc.edu/~roxfinch I hate the Spice Girls, because I just don't think they've got anything to say. They've got this whole "Girl Power" thing, and what's "Girl Power?" It'll also appear on her second full length release due in Spring '99. The tentative album title is "Passenger", and it promises to be a very strong album. Tara has grown a lot since Silence, and her confidence level has skyrocketed with tour experience. > I'd say "Hold Me Jordan" is very indicative to the rest of her music. > While I like the song, I like the stuff on Silence much better. Silence is a great album, and so is the 5-song EP "If You See Me". IYSM includes 2 remixes, 2 new songs, and a live version of "Evidence" that really kicks ass. > I have two bootlegs of her stuff if you find you like her. And that goes > for other members as well.
