Will someone tell Mother Nature that it's *September* *14th*...it shouldn't be 96F *anywhere*. 3. Finally getting a chance to have a good listen to that Holly McNarland CD I got a few weeks ago (I'm taking advantage of the fact the big boss is out of town and half the office is out sick with mono, which is going around campus). She has a little more edge to her than I usually go for, but I really like the CD and anybody who puts her dog's anus inside the CD liner is okay by me. 4. Do we have any list members who live close to DC and are interested in going to a Tragically Hip show? I got my BNL tickets this weekend and they had a little pamplet in the envelope with lists of all the coming attractions to the area. One of these were the Hip coming to the 9:30 club in October. Sorry I don't remember the date, but I do know it was a Saturday (the 10th or 17th I think). I know when I posted about the Hip earlier everyone said they were really a live band, so here's my chance and it's on a weekend so I wouldn't have to take time off, so why not? 5. And speaking of DC...anyone attending the BNL show at Bender Arena in October? If so, let me know--I'll be there. As well as at the Charlotte show in November and more than likely all five shows of their Holiday tour...if they ever announce the dates and places. 6. There is no six. 7. I am happy to report that I have secured funding for my trip to Toronto in November. I had the money for the plane ticket and I had spending money, I just didn't have the money for both and that sorta defeats the purpose. I was all prepared to grovel to my folks for the money, but I just asked could the plane ticket be my birthday present and my mom said, "Okay." Huh. Okay, I'm getting back to work...my student assistant will be here momentarily and I need to set a good example you know! rox ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ rdfinch@mindspring.com http://www.unc.edu/~roxfinch I hate the Spice Girls, because I just don't think they've got anything to say. They've got this whole "Girl Power" thing, and what's "Girl Power?" My mother raising six kids on no money is Girl Power. --Boy George ------------------------------ End of canadian-music-digest V1 #74 ***********************************
