Tune in to win a copy of Tammy's new album "Nightmare On Queen Street". Closing the show will be an exclusive concert from Hamilton's power pop trio The Killjoys, whose new album "Melos Modos" is a favourite here at RadioSonic." I checked out Tamara's set at NxNE or was it CMW this year. Its quite a bit more ethereal and darker than her solo stuff while opening up for Jewel in '95. I've always liked her solo stuff better than her work with Mrs. Torrance. She does a lot of good work, but I seem to see her current direction as something of a dead end. Still, there is some solid stuff on the new CD what I've heard anyway. If the Killjoy's gig is the one I'm thinking of, that should be quite a good listen as well! And speaking of Hamilton, look for a new Chris Briscoe (ex-Grace) vehicle sometime soon... ...out of the ashes of heavy-power rock Grace comes Briscoe. As with Tamara's tuff, I've liked Chris' solo work better than Grace. He's a lot more expressive than Grace might have lead you to believe. I missed Saturday's gig (debut?) at La Luna, but I'm anxious to see if he's incorporated some of the more interesting solo bits (like "Far" and "Keep on Lovin'") into this band. Chris has opened for such list favourites as Emm Gryner and Sarah Slean. :-) Hope everyone (North of the 49th) had a nice Civic Holiday, James. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Aug 1998 12:23:32 -0400 (EDT) From: James McGarry Subject: Re: CBC Two or How to Enjoy Taxes in one easy lesson On Tue, 4 Aug 1998, James McGarry wrote: A whole bunch of stuff without telling anyone when...
