Finch" Subject: sorta OT, but about Canada at least... I need help from all you Canadians on the list to help me figure out where to spend the last weekend in November (the American Thanksgiving and my birthday :). I went to Montreal last year but I had a specific reason to be in Montreal. Now I have a specific reason to *not* be in North Carolina this year. And where else better to go but Canada! I'm looking for something special to do. I've been wanting to visit that island in the Maritimes that has all the Celtic crosses on the graves (someone help me out with the name please, I've seen pictures but never seem to be able to remember the name of the place), but I'm thinking that's more of a summertime activity since pretty much everything you'd be doing would be outside. Here's some info about me to help with suggestions... I like the ordinary day-to-day stuff. I was a history major. I was almost a political science major. I don't ski. I'd like to visit somewhere in Ontario and east. The praires and the west have never really done it for me (that goes for the U.S. as well--ask me sometime about how similiar the two countries are when it comes to the regional patterns that cross the continent.) I was never a big Anne of Green Gables fan. (probably because I was never exposed to the books) While I love cold weather, I'm also from the South and the 80F degree temperature we had today was *wonderful*. I've been to Toronto, Kingston, and Montreal. I'm an academic at heart and probably will always be a student in some form or another--I'm currently doing research on graduate programs in Canada, that is if I ever finish the degree I'm currently working on now. Due to a bad relationship, I have no desire to visit Ottawa--with my luck I'd bump into his mother. I *love* Toronto. Okay, that's enough :). Let the suggestions roll in.
