JOEL CAGE "WEEKLY" UPDATE Monday, November 3, 2003 Howdy Blokes and Folks So the clocks are back and the days are short and darkness falls way before night ... and the primal mammalian urge to curl up in a ball and sleep until it's over remains everpresent like a distant drumbeat who's rhythm descends into a dirge we shall see the schedule relax and I retreating into the comfort and warmth of the lovely home with which I have been so blessedly gifted. But sleep I shan't, for it's work work work, the wheel's still in spin, and the darkness shall not lull me to stupor. I plan to draw upon the season, crank up the heat and watch while the New England winter sits down upon us, and attempts once again to crush with her cold and snow all that lay beneath. Safe within this fragile structure I will pray it's integrity hold fast as I bask in this oasis, observant of the opera raging beyond these thin glass panes, endeavouring to inject some of this soporific bliss and violent inspiration into the coils and wires of my studio, and with a modicum of honest effort and the good grace of all that is, I shall, come the spring, emerge from hiding with something new to show. In the meantime, there's always a gig now and again - come by and share some cheer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wednesday, Nov 5 9pm The Dolphin Striker Portsmouth, NH 603-431-5222 While the weekends at this fine venue tend to rock, Wednesdays are a different story and in the dark, somber atmosphere, highlighted by reflections from the wellspring, the music takes on a more honest tamber. I love these nights, especially when shared with a few friends. Thursday, Nov 6, 13, 20 6pm Shorty's Every Thursday! Manchester, NH 603-625-1730 Always relaxing, GREAT staff, beautiful sound, and alovely ambience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If You've Read This Far Dept.
