I finally had the honor to grace the stage at the infamous Burlington Coffeehouse, courtesy of Ms. Rachel Bissex, and the oh-so intelligent Jeff Miller. It's a true pleasure to converse with this man, and frightening how much knowledge one can cram into the human mind, simply by being 'interested'. I'll be headed back up the Burlington in February, and am already looking forward to it. Also, an enjoyable radio experience appearing w/ Amy Fairchild on WNCS - a terrific station, and clearly the largest and most influential station in the great state of Vermont. Good times .. thanks Amy and Mr. Mark Hauser. ..Thanks for spinning the tunes! SATURDAY, SEP 29 7:00pm The Stone Gardens Fall Equinox House Concert A way-cool show! OCT 5 9p KENDALL CAFE, Cambridge, MA 617-661-0993 As always, I will also be appearing this evening with my pal AL HALLIDAY & the Griffins, on screamin' eclectic electric guitar. Great Fun! If You've Read This Far Dept. I have discovered a gem in the wilds of New Hampshire. I was recently invited to visit MOJO Studios, in Franconia, NH -- to participate in a taping of their newly syndicated program called "The Studio". Having had only a little contact with the folks, I admit a reasonable amount of apprehension .. after all, I was headed off into the stick, and my usual "city-boy" prejudices regarding country folk were kicking in, even after becoming a self-professed hick over the past few years. After a long drive on a windy, roller-coaster of a road, down a few dirt paths, what I found upon arrival was the most down-to-earth, kind, intelligent and professional bunch of folks you might ever want to meet in this miserable business. I walked in to a warm, dark studio-room with subdued lighting, a panoply of musical instruments and gear from all eras of r&r from the antique to the modern, nestled comfortably in a dry and soft chamber, decorated with paraphernalia from all walks of American history - antiquities, kitch, art deco - no stone unturned, all tossed about in delightful randomity. In the next room, two of the nicest digital recording studios you'd ever want to own. Upstairs, upon well-worn wood floors, amidst cushy couches, two complete walls covered with record-albums and recorded tapes, bathed in the heat of a wood-burning stove, two of the nicest graphics workstations you might ever want to dabble on. I felt like I had stepped into the past and the future all at once. We set up gig-style, a small PA system for the auditory, quaffed a beverage, smokes a cig, burned incense, conversed and played tunes for about 45 minutes, recording all ... and off it goes to the radio! A respectable area is covered from NH to CT, with expansion to NYC a,d beyond in the works ... I promise to get y'all a complete list of stations and air-times in the hopes that you'll tune in and listen. A tremendous time! Here in this pastoral setting, 5 unique individuals ply their wares, casting off the trappings of their impressive credentials in the more human pursuance of a life doing what they love ... on a shoestring, with the best of intentions and the highest of hopes. Here's to more of the same, and I can't wait to go back. If you want to learn more, visit the site: http://www.mojomusicstudio.com Thanks Mojo! .. and as always ... THANKS FOR READING THIS FAR!
