It is with pride that I am able to report the sellout of all product submitted for sale at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Given the unfortunate necessity of my departure early from the festival, 'tis truely an "ear-buzzing" experience to imagine that the two songs I performed early Saturday afternoon were enough to generate CD sales in my absence. A thrill of the most encouraging nature. Thanks to all folks who's presence made this year's FRFF a truely inspiring adventure. Boston's ArtStreet Festival, in which I appeared last Thursday along w/ my compadre Michael Carreras, was another success of the highest accord - twas a most professionally presented event - a low-key yet prominent presence at City Hall Plaza. I heartiyl encourage you to look into the remaining events of this month-log Baston happening. Good folks with good intentions. Also: MP3s are up on the web site, and also at http://www.MP3.com if you care to peruse and sample. You can upload comments regarding the tunes at this site as well. I don't know how it works, but apparently there is a system on the MP3.com site that allows for public perusal to result in certain artists "charting" ie, "top-ten listened to" sort of thing. An artists achieving such an honor as to chart in the top 10 could be potentially subject to interest by such industry professionals that may be keeping watch, and thus "opportunity comes a'knockin'"... the upshot is, if you're a surfer and occasional visitor to http://www.mp3.com please stop by and give a Joel Cage tune a hit. Can't hurt and could help! GIGS THIS WEEK LEST ANY OF YOU WERE PLANNING TO ATTEND TUESDAY, AUGUST 10TH's show at: The Black Brimmer, Manchester, NH 'tis my displeasure to inform all that The Brimmer hierarchy has decided to discontinue their Tuesday night Acoustic series. A shame and a mystery to even the Brimmer management - words from upstairs call the shot, and there's not much else to be said ... Thursday, August 12 9pm THE SITTIN BULL PUB Maynard, MA 978-897-4663 I neglected to mention this show in last week's offering ... This is a legendary establishment that's been offering tunes by local greats for years. The dys of the "roadhouse" long since gone and dead, this joint offers up a classic environment for the performance of live music. This evening I'll be sharing the stage with Michael Carreras & his band of thieves.. Mikey is a great s/s and an honorable man. It's always a good moment in my life that's shared with this human being. Friday, August 13 9pm THE KENDALL CAFE Cambridge, MA 617-661-0993 RECORDING LIVE - come out and make this show another one for the books. Always a good experience here - those who know, know - those who don't, well, come find out! I'll also be performing on electric guitar w/ my pals "Al Halliday & the Griffins" at 11pm. Saturday, August 14 noon-5 THE BEST OF BOSTON SONWRITER'S SHOWCASE Hopkington State Park for info: mailto:DCent@aol.com As I could not make the rescheduled "rain date" of the last Showcase, I will be performing at this, the final presentation of a fine yearly event. A TON of great folks on the bill - I play at around 5pm. MORE LIVE RECORDING DATES: grabbed some more cool live versions last week at The Steak Loft in CT, and the library from which to chose continues to grow. I hope you'll consider attending one of these shows and lend your presence & essence to this project - without you it's just a bunch of songs. With you, a captured moment in time. Thursday, September 16th - Horsefeather's, North Conway, NH A final attempt to capture the low-key vibe - a very relaxing atmosphere with just a touch of austerity - sounds like a menu item... Thursday, October 14th - CLUB PASSIM, Cambridge, MA http://www.clubpassim.com This will be a one stop deal between west coast and midwest tours. Friday, November 5th - THE GREY GOOSE, Londonderry, NH I'll be making some promotional visits to this awesome venue in preparation for this big show. The last recorded performance before the Live Release by Xmas '99. THAT'S THE HAPS Wanna Buy A CD? JOEL CAGE: Last Hard Road & JOEL CAGE: Nobody are available for your purchase.
